On National Technology Day, conversations about innovation are most meaningful when technology is viewed not just as a tool but as an enabler to solve real operational challenges.

In a recent article published by MediaBrief for National Technology Day, Manish Singh, Co-Founder & Region Head - Southeast Asia, MatchLog, shared how predictive container matching can reduce empty container movement and improve logistics efficiency, thereby creating measurable economic and environmental impact.

The article brings together voices from across industries to discuss how responsible innovation can drive more inclusive, efficient, and sustainable growth.

As India’s eastern and southern ports continue to expand, the next phase of logistics competitiveness will depend not only on infrastructure, but on how efficiently the ecosystem is connected.

In a recent article published by SCM Spectrum, MatchLog Co-Founder and CEO - India, Harsh Vardhan Gupta shares perspectives on why the future of port competitiveness will depend on connected, data-led ecosystems rather than siloed operations.

The article explores how fragmented visibility across ports, transporters, yards, customs, and exporters continues to create inefficiencies such as idle assets, longer turnaround times, and higher logistics costs. It also highlights the importance of shared visibility, interoperable digital systems, and integrated inland ex*****on in building more efficient and sustainable trade networks.

To know more about the perspective on why data-led orchestration will play a critical role in shaping the next chapter of India’s logistics growth, read: https://scmspectrum.com/data-led-port-ecosystems-a-roadmap-for-east-and-south-india/

What if the global container shortage isn’t a capacity problem, but a utilisation problem?

In a recent article published by Manufacturing Today, MatchLog’s Co-Founder & CEO - India, Harsh Vardhan Gupta, explores how improving container turnaround time can unlock hidden capacity in global trade.

Containers often sit idle in depots for weeks after import, reducing effective fleet capacity and increasing costs across the supply chain. The article highlights how reducing turnaround time from weeks to just a few days - by directly matching import containers with nearby export demand - can significantly improve utilisation without adding new infrastructure.

With tensions around the Strait of Hormuz disrupting one of the world’s most critical oil routes, rerouting, fuel surcharges, and war risk premiums are driving up costs across the board.

The logistics industry is already seeing:

- Up to 49 days port delays
- 118% rise in departure delays
- $800–$1,500 extra per container

While ocean freight remains volatile and largely out of control, landside inefficiencies are still fixable.

Every time an import container returns empty to a depot instead of being reUsed directly for the next export, it leads to fuel burning, increased costs, and carbon emissions, that too for an unproductive trip. With MatchLog’s STinder you can reUse containers and completely eliminate empty trips.

Swipe to see how rising oil prices impact your container costs and what you can control on the ground.
