I have been very quiet but busy for awhile but for the interested few, here's an update. The good Lord has placed me in one of our more prominent trucking establishment to impart my knowledge on many. Well, I'm more than pleased to report, so far it's been very very positive. How many would believe, that, there are many many large truck operators who believe, that should they get into a skid, they should neutral the truck. LET THIS BE A WARNING TO EVERYONE, WHEN YOU SEE THESE BIG TRUCKS, PLS BE DEFENSIVE AND DON'T ASSUME THE OPERATOR KNOW'S WHAT HE'S DOING. I have been to a few accidents scenes where trucks are involved and are assumed to be wrong. The shocking finding, and I should add, very disturbing, most of these accidents are as a result of operators missing gears and don't know the principle to apply for a shift recovery. GENERAL PUBLIC, PLS DRIVE DEFENSIVELY. THIS GOES FOR EVERYONE. A vast amount of the truck operators are ticking time bombs. I get tired of hearing we have the best drivers, but yet, who are doing the rating have no idea how to make the comparison. Drivers, please take some more pride in the operation of these trucks and learn to operate them properly. Question, What's so great about an operator who up-shift with the Jake Brake on? As much as I hate to say this, I have to be honest, the operating standard for big trucks is very low. We have more ignoramus and egotists behind the wheel of these vehicles than anything else.
I OWE IT TO MY COUNTRY TO PLAY MY PART IN MAKING OUR ROAD NETWORK AS SAFE A PLACE AS I'M ALLOWED. I CAN'T DO IT ON MY OWN, PLEASE HELP ME.
Operators don't know how to use a clutch properly because it's accepted in our culture as greatness, not to.They don't know when or how to use the service brakes because they think the engine brake is there for music and promotion of ignorance.
Again, I'm appealing to all, please help me to help them because, most cant afford new trucks but they can operate the old ones safely.
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

So now, I had to explain to this student the Aspect Ratio of Tires, Braking Force and Coefficients of Friction between Tire (rubber) and Asphalt. Well, I had to do all this for him to understand that the braking system isn't the only factor in bringing a vehicle to stop. Well, then he was sure I'm a University Lecturer. There you go again, Mr. Smith.

I had the prevelige of training a gentleman who had failed his driving test miserably. Well, no matter what I did i wasn't able to have him understand the basic principles of operating a tractortrailor. Then i realised his ind wasn't on the task at hand. I raised the level of evaluation and found there to be emotional baggage lurking somewhere. H want's to go to Canada so badly, he can't even think straight. I assisted this gentleman to put his life into perspective so well that even his wife called me when he got home and told her about his experience. Now he driver;s better and is suppose to past his test. Now, my phone ring's off the hook. His wife told others I'm a counselor. Should i switch profession? lol

Who have ever been in a car, bus, walking, riding, jogging, running or anywhere but in a truck and observe the manner in which some of these large vehicles are being operated? Then when you think, almost everything you encounter in life was on or in a truck. Make's you go mmmmm. Ever stopped to think, the operator of that vehicle may not be able to even spell his name? well, here's another one for you. An operator of such large vehicle is leaving Kgn. going to MoBay. He meet's a young lady enroute and just to impress her and maybe so he can get some, you know what in the sleeper, he start teaching her to drive. So, the truck you see coming at you isn't being driven by the assigned IDIOT, but by the browning. Let me not go deeper.I think, and pls correct me if I'm wrong, we all recognize, we can't leave our safety to the Authorities. We need to put an end to this nonsense. How so? pls suggest. I have a few things but pls et me hear from you firstly.WE DEMONSTRATE FOR ROADS, LIGHT, WATER etc. LET'S DEMONSTRATE FOR SAFETY. the next life negatively impacted may be yours. Let's wait no longer.

This is one of the better updates since the start of the year. Have you ever heard ,'The humblest calf suck's the most milk'. Well, I tested seven drivers and six scored well. The only failure was the one driver who started off by telling that where he's from he's the most sought after driver because he's know to be the best and hes taught many drivers. Well, based on my experience, even before we entered the vehicle, I thought to myself, 'this is going to be interesting'.Lo and behold, five minutes in the evaluation I had to take command of the vehicle and gave this candidate a demonstration of how a vehicle is to be operated. Saying he was in awe or dumbstruck would be an understatement. The other drivers did very much better with one thing in common, they read the material they were provided, which made a huge difference. Also, they asked questions. The good/bad part is, they are all leaving Jamaica ti make room for others here to get jobs.YEEAAHHHHH guys, well done

Well, today should be on ok day as I have two gentlemen scheduled for training. One's an oldtimer and the other is fresh in the business but sound;s very enthusiastic to have gotten me as his trainer based on his background check. I'm humbled

I had the challenge of testing a "DON DRIVA" today. You know the one's who you hear the truck coming before you see it and when he exit his shoulders are tilted far backwards and has that swag in his steps? yes , him. Well, I had to de-programme the Don and have him come to the realisation, that's not how a truck is to be driven. There and then for the first in his life he has ever heard or seen a truck being driven properly. Anyway's, after about four agonising hours I made a breakthrough. H e 's as humble as a lamb and has just a few more hrs training left and he should be able to do himself and Jamaica proud, overseas. LOVE MY JOB.

Today I had just one driver to test and I was so pleased at how well this young gentleman can drive. He scored a one on his test. When he get's to Canada, he's going to do just fine driving for a good company.

Today was another good day. Another trainee has passed his driving test and is now on his way overseas to hopefully make his life better. His leaving will hopefully make room for another Local Candidate for a Tractor-trailer driving position.
How many people have ever stopped to think that everything you have was more than likely transported by a truck. Promote truck drivers. The days when truck driving was for the dropouts and the ignoramus will soon be a thing of the past. Don't get left behind.
