[A Treasure Trove of Biodiversity ✨ Koajiro no Mori]
If you’re looking to experience the beauty of nature in the Kanto region, Koajiro no Mori (Koajiro Forest) is a must-visit🌿
Covering approximately 70 hectares, this precious green space is said to be the only place in the Kanto region where an entire natural ecosystem remains intact, from the headwaters of a river all the way to the bay✨

The forest is home to more than 2,000 species of plants and animals, including several endangered species.

A well-maintained walking trail stretching approximately 1.6 km allows visitors to explore this remarkable natural environment. Take a relaxing 60-minute walk from the river’s source to its mouth🚶‍♀️🌿 If you continue on to Koajiro Bay, you may even spot the rare red-clawed crab 🦀

Another nearby attraction is Shirahige Shrine ⛩️ Dedicated to the deity of maritime safety, the shrine features a unique water basin shaped like a giant clam!🐚

[The Kanazawa Fireworks Festival: A Yokohama Kanazawa Summer Tradition 🎆]
Summer is now in full swing across Japan, with exciting summer festivals taking place throughout the country✨

This Saturday, 22 August, the Kanazawa Fireworks Festival will be held in Yokohama’s Kanazawa Ward, which is easily accessible via the Keikyu Line 🎆

Loved by local residents and visitors for more than half a century, the event celebrates its 52nd edition this year.

Around 3,500 fireworks will be launched over the sea between Hakkeijima, Marine Park (Umi no koen) and Nojima during the approximately one-hour display!

A spectacular variety of fireworks will illuminate the night sky, including “Botan-chan Fireworks,” means "peony" inspired by Kanazawa Ward’s mascot Botan-chan, and special celebratory fireworks created to convey congratulatory messages 🎇

Of course, there will also be plenty of food stalls offering delicious treats at the venue 😋

This beloved local tradition is so special that some people say, “Summer isn’t over until you’ve seen this fireworks display!” ✨

This year, 20 historic shrines along the Keikyu Line are taking part⛩️
Natsumōde (Summer Shrine Visit) is a modern Japanese tradition of visiting a shrine halfway through the year to give thanks for the past six months and pray for health, happiness, and peace in the months ahead.

During the campaign, each participating shrine will offer a special summer-themed goshuin (collectible shrine stamp), along with an exclusive goshuin paper insert. Visitors who collect goshuin from all 20 shrines can also receive a special commemorative gift while supplies last.
