Thalagoya (Bengal monitor), also known as the Bengal monitor, is a large reptile commonly found in Sri Lanka. It lives in forests, near lakes and rivers, rural areas, and national parks.

This fascinating reptile has a long tail, strong legs, and sharp claws. It feeds on insects, small animals, eggs, and carrion, playing an important role in maintaining the natural balance of the ecosystem.
