For those who want to experience Sicily in a different way immersed in nature, history and gastronomy that only Sicily can offer in just one day!
The trip is a memorable adventure on a 4 x 4 and goes far from the beaten track. Upon arrival in Pozzallo with the catamaran we start the day with a traditional breakfast of Cafe & Cornetto, in the area of Pozzallo.
After breakfast, we visit to the enchanting fishing village of Marzamemi with its unique Arabic remains. We will visit one of the many traditional tonnara just on the shore of the beautiful harbour and we will experience a degustation of smoked tuna.
From Marzamemi on the way to Fiume Irmino we stop at Casa Vinicola Feudo Rudini in Pachino for a brief wine tour in the family owned winery, followed by wine tasting.
We then start the adventurous part of our trip and proceed to our off-road tour in the natural reserve of Fiume Irminio, which is, the longest in the province of Ragusa. It originates from the slopes of Monte Lauro, an ancient volcano, now a dormant Hyblean plateau, and flows after a long journey in the Mediterranean Sea.
After the off-road trip, we go for a typical Sicilian home-made meal, consisting of various antipasti, two types of pasta, meat-based main course served with local vegetables, dessert, coffee and liquor, including unlimited local wine and water.
After lunch, we continue off-roading in Ragusa until we arrive in Modica for chocolate & liqueur tasting. We return to Pozzallo for the trip back to Malta.
Changes to the above itinerary are possible, such as swimming in the lake during the off-roading trips. For the less adventurous types we can also offer shopping trips or your own personalised visit to Sicily.
