Nam Cheong Hari Raya Open House: Flashback Reliving the Moments

Nam Cheong hosted our 2026 Hari Raya Open House or Eid Mubarak Open House Celebrations under the theme 'Salam Kesyukuran, Jalinan Kemesraan' — Warm Gratitude and Togetherness.

It was exactly that.

Clients, partners, industry peers, and friends gathered for an evening that reminded us what this industry is really built on. Not just contracts and vessels — but the camaraderie relationships that make long-term partnerships possible.

The event carried something beyond celebration.

For every greeting received at the event, Nam Cheong pledged RM50 to children's welfare organisations. By the end of the event — together with our guests — we reached a total donation of RM15,000 to three organisations focusing on children’s welfare:

🤝 — Every Child Needs a Family
💛 — Breaking the Cycle of Poverty
🎗️ — Brightening the Lives of Little Fighters

As our Group CEO Mr Leong Seng Keat shared on the evening: "We are stronger as one community. It is important for us to move forward as a family."

That is what Hari Raya means at Nam Cheong.

Not just a celebration — but a commitment to the community that has always been part of our foundation.

To everyone who joined us: thank you for making it count.

Strategic Fleet Reprofiling: Nam Cheong Announces US$36.7 Million Dual Vessel Sale

Nam Cheong is pleased to announce the successful sale of two offshore support vessels (OSV) for a combined total of US$36.7 million. This landmark transaction includes our first newbuild vessel sale in over a decade.

Key Transaction Highlights:

First Newbuild Sale in a Decade: Delivery of one (1) newbuild multi-purpose support vessel (MPSV) to a government-linked operator in Egypt.

Strategic Divestment: Sale of one (1) 120-tonne AHTS vessel, turning 16 years old in 2026, to an operator in Indonesia.

Opportune Timing: The disposal was timed perfectly following the completion of the vessel's charter contract in 1Q2026.

Capital Recycling: Proceeds will be redeployed to support our in-house shipbuilding activities in Miri, Sarawak, and to grow our recurring income base.

CEO Perspective: “Our strong OSV shipbuilding heritage and established global clientele base allow us to identify and capitalise on market opportunities for vessel monetisation. This enables the Group to capture earnings upsides through the sale of both newbuilds and existing ageing vessels." stated Mr. Leong Seng Keat.

With global offshore EPCI expenditure projected to rise 32% to US$71 billion in 2026, Nam Cheong remains strategically positioned to navigate the tightening supply of OSVs.

Press Release:
Nam Cheong secures OSV charters of up to RM102.5 million.

Key Takeaways
· The contracts cover 2 OSVs with a firm charter period of up to 2 years, starting in 2026, with options of extension 1 additional year.
· Raises the Group’s fleet under long-term charters to 69%.
· Expects vessel utilisation rates to improve in 2026, supported by more long-term charters.

Nam Cheong is pleased to announce that it has secured OSV charter contracts of up to RM102.5 million. The contracts comprise 1 Anchor Handling Tug Supply ("AHTS") vessel and 1 maintenance work vessel, to be chartered for a firm period of up to 2 years, commencing in 2026, with an option to extend by 1 additional year.

The AHTS vessel has been chartered to Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (“COOEC”), a subsidiary of CNOOC, and commenced operations in 1Q2026. The maintenance work vessel is chartered to a regional independent oil producer and is expected to commence operations in early 2Q2026. Both vessels, which support offshore oil and gas activities in Southeast Asia, can handle a broad range of offshore support functions, demonstrating the Group’s operational versatility in vessel deployments across Asia.

With these two long-term charters, 25 out of the Group’s 36-vessel fleet are now under long-term charters, raising the fleet’s long-term charter coverage to 69%. This supports the Group’s long-term revenue visibility and contributes to its recurring income base. The Group expects vessel utilisation to improve in 2026, supported by the commencement of more long-term charters.

Mr Leong Seng Keat, Chief Executive Officer of Nam Cheong commented:
“These charter contracts underpin our clients' confidence in the quality of our fleet. Our average vessel age now stands at 9 years, lower than the market average, which provides a long runway. Our fleet is also technologically advanced, allowing us to serve clients across diverse offshore applications and geographies. These contract wins bring us close to our target of 70% long-term charter coverage, which provides a good balance between earnings stability and room to capture upsides in the spot market."

Offshore activity remains robust in Malaysia as energy security becomes paramount, with Petronas aiming to sustain domestic production at approximately 2 million boe/day through 2028, supported by investment in exploration, deepwater development, and enhanced oil recovery[1]. Across Southeast Asia, OSV supply continues to remain tight, driven by its ageing fleet and minimal newbuild activity[2], which supports charter rates. Amid this backdrop, Nam Cheong continues to monitor the market closely, remaining disciplined in pursuing chartering opportunities, with a focus on securing contracts that support the Group's long-term earnings quality and resilience.
