A big welcome to Paulo & Ronaldo from Lisbon, Portugal! 🇵🇹❤️

They’re having an amazing summer holiday in Malaysia and have already explored Kuala Lumpur, George Town, Penang, and Taman Negara — and now it’s time for the beautiful Tioman Island! 🌊🐠🌴

Traffic was quite busy along the way — not surprising because Malaysia is entering the school holiday period, together with the long weekend for Malaysia’s Independence Day 🇲🇾🎉. So, the roads are definitely getting busier with families and travellers heading out for their holidays.

But Paulo shared a great piece of advice that really stayed with us:

A simple but powerful reminder for everyone on the road. ❤️

Sometimes, arriving a little later is much better than taking unnecessary risks. Be patient, stay calm, and arrive safely. 🙏🚗

🌿🇲🇾 Two Months, Four Countries & One Amazing Malaysian Adventure! ✈️🌏

Meet Ethan and his girlfriend from Paris, France 🇫🇷! After an incredible 2-month holiday across Asia, they explored Japan 🇯🇵, South Korea 🇰🇷, Indonesia 🇮🇩 and travelled all over Malaysia 🇲🇾.

🌊🤿 Antoine Brothers from Tours, France 🇫🇷 — Tioman Island Adventure! 🇲🇾

Back from an amazing escape to Tioman Island, the Antonio brothers stayed at Tekek Coral Reef and enjoyed an unforgettable scuba diving experience. 🤿🐠

The visibility wasn’t at its best this time, but once they went underwater, the beauty of Tioman was still incredible! 🌊✨ So much living coral, colourful marine life, and a beautiful underwater world waiting to be discovered.

Sometimes, you don’t need perfect visibility to appreciate how special nature can be. 💙

And yes — this is one of the best times to visit Tioman Island! 🏝️☀️🌴

🇩🇪🍺 From Munich to Malaysia — and a little Oktoberfest story along the way! 🇲🇾🌴

It was a pleasure meeting Katleen and her family from Munich, Germany, during their Malaysian adventure. 🚕❤️

While travelling together, Katleen shared some fascinating stories about Oktoberfest, Munich’s world-famous festival! 🍻🎡

Did you know that Oktoberfest began in 1810 as a celebration for the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen? What started as a royal wedding celebration eventually became one of the world’s biggest festivals. 🇩🇪

Katleen also explained something many first-time visitors may not realise — Oktoberfest is made up of different beer tents, and each one has its own atmosphere and character.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Traditional & family-friendly tents tend to have a more relaxed atmosphere and are a great choice for families with children, especially during the daytime.

🍺🎶 The newer and more tourist-popular tents are often louder, livelier and packed with visitors from around the world who want the classic Oktoberfest experience — beer, music, traditional food and plenty of celebration!

It was great hearing about Oktoberfest from someone who actually comes from Munich rather than simply reading about it online. 😊

And while Katleen and her family were sharing stories about Germany, they were busy discovering another side of the world here in Malaysia. 🌏

🇮🇹✈️🇲🇾 From Bologna to Malaysia — discovering the differences between travelling in Europe & Asia! 🌏

It was a pleasure welcoming Francesco and his family from Bologna, Italy during their journey through Malaysia. 🚕🇲🇾

During the drive, we had some interesting conversations about travelling in Europe compared with travelling in Asia — and there are definitely advantages and disadvantages to both! 😊

🇪🇺 Travelling around Europe
One of the biggest advantages is the convenience of moving between countries. 🚆✈️ With excellent trains, highways and public transport, travelling from one country to another can be relatively easy.

But the downside? 💶 Europe can be expensive, especially accommodation, restaurants, parking and transportation in popular tourist destinations. And during peak season, famous cities can become extremely crowded.

🌏 Travelling around Asia
Asia offers incredible diversity, often with more affordable food, accommodation and local transportation. 🍜🏝️ You can experience completely different cultures, landscapes and cuisines without necessarily travelling huge distances.

The challenge can be the opposite — transportation systems and infrastructure can vary greatly from one country to another, and sometimes getting from one beautiful destination to another requires more time and planning.

For us, the best part of travelling is perhaps finding the balance: Europe for its convenience and connectivity, Asia for its diversity, value and sense of adventure. ❤️

And of course, every traveller has their own favourite! 😉

It was a pleasure meeting Katie, David & Alice from London, England during their time in Malaysia. 😊🚕🇲🇾

Along the way, we had some really interesting conversations — not only about travelling around Malaysia, but also about working life in Malaysia compared with the UK.

💼 We talked about how employment is changing in both countries, differences in working culture, salaries and the cost of living, opportunities for younger people, and how important skills and flexibility have become in today’s job market.

One interesting thing about driving tourists is that every journey becomes a little cultural exchange. 🌏 You get to hear different perspectives from people from around the world, while sharing a little bit of everyday Malaysian life with them.

🇳🇱⏰ This was a journey where every minute mattered!

Meet Tim and his lovely wife from Amsterdam, Netherlands 🇳🇱❤️

Their mission was simple but challenging: get from Mersing to Kuala Besut by 5:00 PM so they could catch their boat. 🚖⛴️

With such a tight schedule, this wasn’t the day for long sightseeing stops. We knew from the beginning that time management would be the key.

With Taxi KLIA’s experience handling long-distance transfers between Malaysia’s east coast destinations, we planned the journey carefully and kept unnecessary stop time to a minimum.

🚗 Less stopping. More driving. More time saved.

Of course, safety always comes first. We can’t control traffic, road conditions or unexpected delays, but careful planning and avoiding unnecessary stops can make a big difference when you have a boat to catch.

For Tim and his wife, the goal wasn’t to see every attraction along the way—it was simply to arrive at Kuala Besut on time for their boat. ⛴️🌴

That’s one of the advantages of travelling with an experienced private driver. We understand that sometimes the journey is about sightseeing and enjoying the road… and sometimes, the priority is getting you to the jetty on time. 💯
