Trucking Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Trucking Manager to oversee our transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a fleet of trucks, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining compliance with regulations. The Trucking Manager will lead a team of drivers and logistics personnel, coordinate schedules, and optimize routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. Strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a thorough understanding of the trucking industry are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

- Manage a fleet of trucks and drivers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with dispatchers to schedule deliveries and pick-ups.
- Monitor driver performance and provide coaching and feedback as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, expenses, and equipment maintenance.
- Resolve any issues or problems that arise during transportation operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall performance.
- Stay informed about industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in trucking management or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
