TRANSPORT HOLIDAY

March 23, 2026 (Monday)

To our valued commuters and the general public:

Please be informed that transport groups and cooperatives will observe a Transport Holiday on Monday, March 23, 2026, as a form of collective action in response to the continuous and significant increase in fuel prices.
This decision is made due to the growing difficulty faced by the transport sector in sustaining daily operations. The rising cost of fuel has greatly affected drivers, operators, and transport cooperatives, making it increasingly challenging to provide reliable and affordable public transportation services.
As a result, there may be no public transport services on the said date.
We respectfully ask for your understanding and support as the transport sector calls attention to this urgent concern and appeals for immediate government intervention to address the impact of high fuel costs.
We encourage all commuters to plan their trips accordingly and make necessary travel adjustments.
This initiative aims to highlight the current situation of the transport industry and seek long-term solutions for the benefit of both operators and the commuting public.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.

* Leave earlier than usual

* Consider alternative modes of transportation

* Stay updated through official announcements from local authorities
