Dear MMDA, this morning around 7am, in the vicinity of Save More Supermarket, Caloocan, 2 of our staff on one of our trucks (driver, helper) have been pulled over by MMDA officers for having "no permission to operate", asking our staff to pay P500 immediately, or the plate would get removed. The officers refused to give information on mission order or even their names. They didn't want to issue a ticket, nor did they want to remove the plate, when our staff denied payment. Our truck had to deliver urgent goods to said supermarket for our client, and it was held up by blackmailing MMDA officers.

First off, all of our trucks have a "Provisional Authority to Operate", which is valid for 3 months until we get our yellow plates, so permission is GIVEN. Secondly, in our understanding, MMDA officers asking for money on the street, refusing to issue a ticket, not giving information about mission order or giving out names and blackmailing our staff is illegal. Whereas our staff has done NOTHING wrong.

This incident and its details is a bit of an ongoing investigation for ourselves, since we do not have all details, as this just happened far away from our main office. We will update you and are looking forward to communicating with you.

It would be nice if you could look into this from your side already, as well. Please, let us know what we can do or what you need from us.
