Saturday, August 29th we lost the foundation of our Peter family. For anyone who knew Bob, they knew him first as a family man and then by his passion for trucking, hog farming, and his dedication to the Athens community.

Bob was the co-founder of EJ Peter Trucking more than 65 years ago and we are honored to carry on his legacy through Peter Trucking LLC today. Throughout those years, Bob built a national company but always remained committed to the community of Athens where he raised his family and centered his business.

Throughout the last few years and as recent as last week, Bob enjoyed visits to the shop and watching the interworkings of the operation. In retirement, Bob and Marilyn looked forward to their trips to the shop to fill pop machines, assemble holiday trays and treats, and visit with drivers.

What we will remember most about Bob is his unwavering love and support for his family, his faith, and his dedication to the community of Athens.

10-4 on a life well lived and a joyous reunion with Marilyn in Heaven! ❤️
