Crafted with skill, passion, and care. Hi! My name is Dale Bramlette, I live in New Mexico near the Rio Grande in a small town called Belen. I "Rockhound" during the summer and cut cabochons from those expeditions year round. I have been "cabbing" and making custom jewelry for over 30 years. My wife Kelly, and daughter Dana help me with the business of selling cabs and jewelry on the internet. This partnership enables us to offer thousands of unique gemstones worldwide. We offer current cab designs in a huge variety of gemstone material, many only available through us. Alright Rock Goblins, today’s Wildcard is one of those materials that gets called “turquoise” ALLLL the time… but technically, it isn’t turquoise at all. 👀

Today we’re talking WHITE BUFFALO!

⛏️ WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?
White Buffalo is mined in Nevada, most famously from the Tonopah-area region. It’s prized for its bright white to creamy body color with dramatic black, brown, or gray matrix running through it.

🦬 SO… IS IT WHITE TURQUOISE?
Nope! Despite commonly being sold or nicknamed “White Buffalo Turquoise,” White Buffalo does not get its white color from turquoise and doesn’t have the copper responsible for turquoise’s classic blue and green colors.

It’s its own gorgeous lapidary material—and honestly, it doesn’t need to pretend to be turquoise. 😂

🖤 WHAT MAKES IT SO COOL?
Every piece can look completely different. You’ll see everything from nearly pure snowy white to heavy black spiderwebbing, smoky gray patterns, brown matrix, and crazy high-contrast sections.

That contrast is EXACTLY why silversmiths love the stuff. Set White Buffalo in silver and that black-and-white pattern absolutely POPS. 🤌
