Your truck's payload rating is not the same as its bed size. It is a calculated number stamped on a sticker inside the driver's door, and it is the number that matters.
Most overloaded trucks look completely normal driving down the road. The damage shows up later — in brakes, suspension, and tires that wore out ahead of schedule.
Three figures worth knowing before any haul: GVWR, payload capacity, and axle ratings. All three are different. All three can be exceeded independently.
If you are pulling a trailer, add tongue weight to the list. That limit lives in your hitch rating and your rear axle rating, and it is separate from everything else.
Underloading is its own problem. Spreading a job across extra trips costs money in fuel, time, and wear — and it slows the project down.
406 Logistics and Dirt runs the numbers before the truck leaves the yard. Right equipment, right load, right trip.
