Wounded Warrior ProjectWe embarked on a journey of self-reflection and commitment to helping veterans struggling with su***de. Sean, Mike, Jere, and Roy set out for Chattanooga to meet up and begin their trip to Key West for on-the-water training.
While driving through Virginia with the boat trailer, Roy heard an unexpected pop and carefully brought the vehicle to a stop. Upon inspection, he discovered the trailer wheel had snapped. Frustration set in, but the RangeOars Row team quickly began brainstorming solutions.
After multiple calls and efforts to find help, they decided to wait until morning. The next day, Hugh's Transport came to the rescue. Jason Simmons came with his wrecker and attached a set of wheel dolly’s to the trailer making it drivable to their shop.
It was determined that a broken wheel bearing caused the issue. The RangeOars team, determined not to be defeated, worked tirelessly to find a replacement bearing for the European trailer. After a challenging search, they successfully located the part and handed it off to Danny Simmons.
At that point, Danny of Hugh’s Body Shop Inc. took over to handle the necessary repairs. Thanks to their quick action and expertise, Roy and the boat were back on the road in under 48 hours, ready to continue the journey to Key West and begin their training without any further delays.
Thanks also go out to Steven Simmons at Hugh’s Body Shop in Daleville, VA for coordinating the assistances son provided.
