On this Memorial Day, we pause from the pace of our routes and routines to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice is the quiet foundation beneath the freedoms we rely on every day—the freedom to build businesses, raise families, and chart our own paths across this vast country.

For many in our Western Dairy Transport family, remembrance is personal. Some of you carry the memory of a parent, child, spouse, sibling, or friend who never came home. Others have worn the uniform yourselves and know the meaning of service and loss firsthand. To each of you, please know that your courage and your memories are held with deep respect by all of us.

As a company that helps nourish America, we move through small towns and big cities, past fields and farmsteads, along interstates and two‑lane roads that connect our communities. Along those roads are memorials, flags, and names carved in stone. Let’s allow those reminders to shape how we carry ourselves— with gratitude, humility, and a commitment to one another.

Honoring our fallen means more than a moment of silence. It means living the values they defended:
Duty: showing up for each other, for our customers, and for the communities we serve.
Integrity: doing the right thing, especially when no one is watching.
Service: putting the team and the mission ahead of self.
Courage: choosing the safe, responsible path—even when it takes longer or costs more.

If you’re on the road or on a shift this weekend, thank you for keeping our commitments while many observe the holiday. Please take extra care—drive defensively, watch your rest, and look out for your teammates. Safety is one of the most meaningful ways we can honor those who served: by protecting the lives entrusted to us today.

I also encourage each of us to take a moment—at home, at a local ceremony, or simply in quiet reflection—to remember the fallen and to support the families who bear their loss. A kind word, a check‑in with a colleague, a gesture of respect can mean more than we know.

On behalf of the leadership team, thank you for the pride and purpose you bring to Western Dairy Transport. May we be worthy of the sacrifice we honor today, and may we carry forward their legacy in the way we work, the way we serve, and the way we care for one another.

With gratitude,
David Shelton, President & CEO

At Western Dairy Transport, we know some of the best ideas come from the drivers doing the job every day.

That’s why we’re launching the WDT Driver Advisory Committee (DAC), a new initiative designed to encourage open communication and collaboration by giving drivers an opportunity to share feedback, perspectives, and ideas that can help support operational decisions and the continued growth and success of WDT. Applications are being invited from all drivers.

Selected members will meet quarterly with company leadership to share feedback, represent fellow drivers, and help shape what comes next.

This is more than a title. It’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Happy Mother’s Day to the Moms Who Keep Everything Rolling

At Western Dairy Transport, we know there are two things that never stop moving: our trucks…and moms.

Moms are the original dispatchers.
📍 They know where everyone is.
📝 They keep the schedule.
🍎 They handle unexpected breakdowns.
⛽ And somehow keep the whole operation fueled and running on time.

Whether you’re behind the wheel, in the office, or holding down the fort at home, thank you for the countless miles you travel for your families every single day.

To all the moms in the WDT family:
You may not always run on a full tank, but you still deliver the most precious cargo of all.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at WDT!

Big win for one of our own!

We’re proud to recognize Jeremiah Leonard from our Accounting team for being awarded a scholarship through the Truckload Carriers Association.

Jeremiah has plans to pursue an accounting degree through Missouri State University and continue growing his career at WDT.

“This scholarship is beyond beneficial for me. It gives me the chance to grow and gain knowledge at a lower cost.”

When asked what’s influenced his path the most, his answer was simple and strong:

“Nothing has influenced me more than God. God has had my back through everything I have encountered so far in my life. I strive to grow in this company and show God’s light throughout it all.”

We love seeing our team chase growth and purpose at the same time.

Help us congratulate Jeremiah!

April 2026 Employee Spotlight
Cleburn Walker
Haul-Off Driver (DOT)

Cleburn Walker brings a steady, positive presence to the Stephenville team and approaches each day ready to take on whatever comes his way. His manager, Mikey Babkowski, shared that “Cleburn approaches each day with positivity and is ready to take on any tasks that come his way,” making him someone the team can count on.

That mindset carries into how Cleburn impacts the operation. Mikey noted that “his positive demeanor reflects his understanding of the importance of serving as a role model,” as he consistently represents WDT’s core values and sets the tone for those around him.

For Cleburn, success on the road comes down to habits and awareness. One simple practice he emphasizes is using a blinker every time he changes lanes, explaining that it helps keep him intentional and focused behind the wheel. He also relies on “using shadows,” a technique that helps him stay aware of his surroundings and anticipate movement around him—an extra layer of awareness that supports safe driving.

Outside of work, Cleburn enjoys riding motorcycles, something he describes as “good therapy,” giving him a chance to relax and recharge.

Mikey summed it up best: “Cleburn proudly represents WDT, blending his driving skills with knowledge of the job and an unwavering dedication to excellence.”

Thank you, Cleburn, for your positivity, professionalism, and commitment to safety every day!

April 2026 Employee Spotlight
Xavier Gonzalez
Dispatcher (Non-DOT)

Xavier Gonzalez plays a key role on the Dalhart night shift, where his approach to people makes a bigger impact than it might seem. Working with drivers during the night shift, Xavier focuses on creating a positive and smooth experience in every interaction. As he shared, “I go into every interaction with a smile… I try to make the time they spend at WDT as easy and smooth as possible.” That mindset helps set the tone and makes a difference for drivers.

One of the biggest skills Xavier has developed during his time at WDT is communication. “From dealing with customers to asking questions, my communication has improved tenfold,” he said. That growth shows up daily in how he supports drivers, works through challenges, and keeps operations moving.

His manager, Paula Hassard, highlighted Xavier’s ability to stay calm under pressure, sharing that he “remained composed and worked to diffuse a difficult situation recently.” She added that Xavier is “polite, even-tempered, and genuinely wants to help everyone,” bringing a steady, positive presence to the team.

Outside of work, Xavier enjoys spending time with his one-year-old son, Matteo. “Being a dad is the best hobby I could’ve ever asked for,” he shared, making the most of every opportunity he gets to be with him.

Thank you, Xavier, for your positive attitude, professionalism, and the impact you make on our drivers and team each day!
