Today we celebrate Clayton on his last day with CGCTA after an incredible 12 years! 🎉

Clayton has been such an important part of our team—keeping our vehicles and office clean. More than that, he’s always brought a positive attitude, a smile, and a willingness to help wherever needed.

Clayton has accepted a full-time opportunity, and while we will truly miss him, we are so excited for this next chapter in his journey.

☔🚐 Rainy day delivery!

CGCTA just added three new wheelchair-accessible minivans to the fleet today. We’re excited to put these vehicles to work serving our community and helping more people get where they need to go safely and reliably.

🤝 A ride can make all the difference.

Since launching in November, the Safe Return program has helped 33 individuals reconnect with family members, recovery programs, or other support systems outside of Cape Girardeau.

Many individuals who become stranded in our community already have support waiting for them elsewhere but lack the transportation to get there. Safe Return helps bridge that gap by coordinating transportation to connect people with the help they need.

This program operates through collaboration between the Cape Girardeau County Transit Authority, the Cape Girardeau Police Department Co-Responder Unit, and Georgia Rodgers with Labor of Love.

Safe Return shows how public transportation can be part of community solutions that connect people with the care and support they need.

A new program in Cape Girardeau is working to get people off the streets by offering them something simple but crucial: a ride home.

Executive Director Ginny Smith spent the day in Jefferson City meeting with state legislators to discuss the importance of continued public transit funding in Missouri.

We appreciate Senator Jamie Burger for taking the time to meet and talk about how public transportation supports residents in Cape Girardeau County and communities across the state.

Public transit connects individuals to employment, healthcare, education, and other essential services. CGCTA remains committed to providing safe, reliable, and accessible transportation for our community.

Hours of Operation change effective March 1, 2026.
Service Changes:
• Friday and Saturday service between 10:00 PM and Midnight will be discontinued.
• Sunday service hours will be extended from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
