👻🎃 Lifeguard Ambulance Service had a spooktacular time! 🚑💗
We were excited to participate in the annual Florence County Emergency Management Trunk or Treat! Our team had a boo-tiful time celebrating Halloween with our community, spreading smiles, and sharing some spooky fun with all the little ghosts and goblins! 👻🍬

A big thank you to Florence County Emergency Management for hosting this wonderful event and giving us the opportunity to be part of such a fun community tradition!

🚑 CREW SPOTLIGHT: MEET BRIAN DRAWDY! 🚑

28 years in EMS, 28 years of marriage, and apparently a garage full of questionable decisions! 😂

Brian has been in EMS for nearly 28 years! He originally escaped the fire service looking for a new challenge. Apparently, nobody warned him what he was signing up for, because he’s been riding the boo boo bus ever since!

When he’s not answering calls, Brian enjoys hunting, golfing, and proudly watching his son, Corbin, perform with Western Carolina University’s Pride of the Mountains Marching Band. Corbin is studying music education, so clearly someone in the family knows how to keep things in tune! 🎶

🔧 Fun Fact: Brian has a habit of collecting vehicles that need a LOT of work. Because after spending his days fixing people’s problems, the obvious way to relax is to go home and fix more problems!

❤️ His Favorite Crew: His wife of 28 years, Sheri, their son Corbin, and Zoey, their rescue dog who has apparently embraced chaos as a lifestyle.

🏆 What’s Next? Brian is less than a year away from retiring from Chester County EMS, but he’s not quite ready to hang up the stethoscope! He’s looking forward to continuing his career with GMR, staying involved in his community, and making more memories with the people he loves.

Moral of the story? Some people buy a project car and call it a midlife crisis. Brian collects them and calls it a hobby!

Thanks for nearly three decades of service, Brian! We’re glad you’re part of the crew! 🚑👏

Several Lifeguard employees recently attended the Region IV Special Pathogen Training Course in Charleston, where they worked alongside healthcare professionals and partners from MUSC to enhance their knowledge and skills in responding to high-risk infectious disease situations.
Through hands-on training and collaboration with industry experts, our team continues to build the expertise needed to keep our patients, communities, and healthcare partners safe.
We're proud of our dedicated professionals who never stop learning and preparing for whatever challenges lie ahead. 🚑👏

🕊️ 25 Years Later, We Still Remember

Today, as we reflect on the 25th anniversary of September 11th, we remember the lives that were lost, the families whose worlds were forever changed, and the survivors who continue to carry the memories of that day.

We also honor the brave first responders who answered the call without hesitation. In a time of fear and uncertainty, they showed extraordinary courage, selflessness, and compassion, reminding us what it truly means to serve others.

As we pause for a moment of silence, let us remember not only the tragedy of that day, but also the strength, resilience, and unity that followed. May we never forget the sacrifices made and the heroes who ran toward danger to help those in need.

Today, we remember, honor and give thanks. ❤️🤍💙

📚✏️ Back-to-School Safety Starts Now! 🚑

As students head back to the classroom, Lifeguard Ambulance Service of the Carolinas encourages families to make safety a top priority. Here are a few simple reminders to help ensure a safe and successful school year:

🚸 Walking to and from School • Walk on sidewalks whenever possible. • Cross at designated crosswalks and street corners. • Put away phones and other distractions when crossing the street. • Look left, right, and left again before crossing. • Make eye contact with drivers and watch for vehicles that may be turning or backing up.

🧼 Practice Good Hand Hygiene Frequent handwashing with soap and water or the use of hand sanitizer can help keep students healthy throughout the school year.

🍎 Choose Healthy Foods Nutritious breakfasts and lunches provide the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients children need to learn, grow, and thrive.

🏠 Be Prepared After School If children are home alone after school, make sure they know: ✅ How to call 911 ✅ Their home address and phone number ✅ Parent/guardian contact information ✅ The name and phone number of a trusted neighbor or emergency contact
