and operated by Bertie Ambulance Service was established in
2004 to meet the needs and demands of Southeastern Virginia
but not limited to, with offices in Portsmouth and South Hill Virginia. American Lifeline has over 50 employees and eleven trucks to

Benefits Currently Offered
Starting Pay: EMT- $19.50 per hour
EVOC- $16.00 per hour
EMT with FT benefits Equivalent to $21.25 per hour
EVOC with FT benefits Equivalent to $17.63
EMT Sign on Bonus: $500.00 to be paid after 60 Days of Full Time Employment or Work an average of Three Days Per Week for 60 Days.
7 Paid Holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas for full time employees. (If you work on a paid holiday, you will get the holiday pay plus time and a half for the actual hours that you work)
Health Insurance Plan: (Optional) ACA Compliant plans available through Blue Cross/Blue Shield for full time employees.
Dental Insurance: Through Delta Dental at NO COST TO THE EMPLOYEE for full time employees.
Life Insurance: $25,000 policy through Mutual of Omaha at NO COST TO THE EMPLOYEE for full time employees.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance: $25,000.00 policy through Mutual of Omaha at NO COST TO THE EMPLOYEE for full time employees.
Vision Insurance: (Optional) Through Principal Vision at a cost of less than $1.70 per week.
401k Retirement Account: (Optional) With employer match of up to 4%

At American Lifeline we pride ourselves on our family-oriented team. We work together to respond to non-emergent medical calls with the highest quality of patient care, customer service and safety. We believe in flexibility whether you are going to school, volunteering, or simply want more time with your family.

We work Monday- Saturday and have shift start times ranging from 4a - 7a these shifts can be 10 -12 hours. Choose your availability.
