In just under 3 years—2 years and 9 months to be exact—Peter Miles has made a lasting impact at Helix.

Starting in Customer Service, he quickly proved his versatility, stepping into Carrier Sales when the need arose and thriving from the start. Today, we’re excited to announce his promotion to Operations Manager.

Logistics seems to come naturally to Peter, but it’s his work ethic and commitment to doing things the right way that have truly set him apart. He’s also been instrumental in strengthening our carrier compliance efforts and is a go-to teammate for support, insight, and follow-through.

Peter’s path is a great reminder that when skill meets integrity, great things happen.

We recently connected with their Operations Manager to discuss their mission, the challenges of today’s freight market, and the importance of strong partnerships—like the one between Merx Global and Helix Logistics.

Founded by brothers Christian and Pavel Peneff, Merx Global has been in business for over 20 years, with a focus on hauling hazmat materials while providing exceptional service across various freight types.

While hazmat freight is their specialty, Merx also handles 53’ dry van and re**er shipments, offering flexible solutions like drop trailers to meet a variety of customer needs.

Merx is dedicated to providing reliable service, no matter the challenge. Their operations run 24/7, ensuring real-time tracking and communication with customers to keep freight moving smoothly.

“It’s a tough industry that takes a lot out of you mentally and physically, but at the end of the day, I couldn’t see myself doing anything else.”
