After our incredible journey to Michigan and back, I was blessed to finally sit down, savor dinner, and refresh with a shower, before retiring to bed around 9 PM, only to be awoken by a phone call at 11:15 PM that would change everything. By 00:40 AM, we were already on our way south with the precious mare and her month-old foal in tow. I must admit, the trip was far from easy. The mare was in immense distress, and her condition worsened when she began to lay down in the trailer, just 52 miles north of Lexington. With urgency and care, we quickly located her baby on the monitor, ensuring its safety. Though the mare would periodically rise, she'd inevitably throw herself back down onto the trailer floor. Despite the challenges, we finally arriving at the hospital at 2:35AM. It took tremendous effort to rouse the mare and guide her out of the trailer. , please take a moment to lift the owners, the mare, and her foal in prayer.

As the morning fog lifted, a breathtaking day unfolded, filled with promise. We bid a fond farewell to southern Ohio, embarking on a journey to Michigan with hearts full of excitement. Our trailer, loaded with hay nets and an extra batch of supplies, was ready to roll. Handling these two magnificent horses was a true delight, their gentle spirits and strong bond palpable as we set off towards new adventures.

Mr. Henderson was thrilled to be heading back home to Waynesville, Ohio, and overcoming the challenging traffic was our top priority. So with hope and determination, knowing that the thunderstorms we'd faced were likely contributing to the congestion, eyes on the road and hands firmly grasping the wheel at ten and two. It didn't faze him in the least as we watched him radiate calmness in the monitor. Watching him stand so serenely, gazing out the window, nothing could disturb his peace.

Yesterday was an extraordinary day. The first Horse originated from the breathtaking Spycoast Farms in Lexington, Kentucky, a true haven for equine excellence. There, we discovered a stunning black mare freshly flown in from the Netherlands, having only touched down in the States a few weeks prior. As we navigated through the congested Memorial Day traffic, our journey back to Ohio was a testament to our dedication. Upon delivering the horse, we hastened to Ohio State University, for it was time for this magnificent Mare and her foal to finally find their home. The moment we arrived and I laid eyes on the foal, I felt an overwhelming surge of joy witnessing the spark in her step and the alertness in her demeanor, a true sign of her progress. Initially, my heart sank when I saw the little one lying down, seemingly unattended by her mother, fueling my concern of a potential 'dummy foal' syndrome and maternal rejection. However, it became apparent that she was merely weak from lacking the vital colostrum from her mother, struggling to stand and utterly disinterested in her surroundings. Witnessing her emerge from her stall at OSU, with a spring in her step and a newfound desire to stay close to her mother, filled me with hope and reassurance that she was indeed on the road to a full recovery.

Mr. Waffles has been radiating an extra special sparkle, though slightly subdued these past few days, prompting a visit to Alexandria, Kentucky for a thorough check-up. Waffles holds a cherished spot in my heart as one of my most beloved donkeys! A profound bond has blossomed between us. What's there not to adore about his compassionate heart, soothing nuzzles, and that profound gaze that seems to read the depths of my soul, as if truly seeing me? ❤️

This precious little filly entered the world just after midnight, watched over by the skilled eyes of the local veterinarian and the keen awareness of her devoted owner, who knew exactly what to do in this critical moment and promptly sent her to the hospital. When every second counts for these young lives, timely action is crucial, and we're grateful for the call that allowed us to spring into action, arriving in Columbus within an impressive 2 1/2 hours.

It took a few wonderful minutes for these two lovely boys to warm up to me. This was my first experience with alpacas, so I immersed myself in a wealth of knowledge about them, gaining a deeper understanding of their gentle nature and how they interact with each other, humans, and other animals. They were truly magnificent, radiating kindness and gentleness, and their curious nature was truly inspiring. Once the halters were on them, they effortlessly walked out of the pasture and into the trailer. The ride was incredibly comfortable, and they even laid down for the entire trip. Upon arrival at their new home, they were warmly welcomed by their new friend and fellow alpaca .
