Attention Post:
It’s happening quite frequently, so it’s time it’s addressed.
Attached is the clause of our contract about payment and requirements.
50% to reserve your spot, simply because I couldn’t afford people canceling last minute. Balance is due AT DELIVERY. Per our contract, prior to the horse being unloaded.
I never push this issue. BUT. It’s become a reoccurring issue and it needs to stop.
For example, when you go to the gas station to fill up with gas. You don’t just get to fill up and the pay days, weeks, months later. No you pay as soon as it’s done filling. Which is exactly how it should be.
When our job is complete, we get paid. We ship coast to coast. So there are a ton of expenses that we occur throughout trips. We should not have to reach out for days on end just to receive the balance that’s owed.
This job is what our source of income is. It’s what feeds our children, pays the bills and keeps a roof over our head.
We tend to be to lenient when it comes to enforcing things because we are kind. But it is unfair to take advantage of us.
This becomes mentally exhausting. There is so much hard work that goes into each and every haul. From planning down to caring for the horses while their on our rig. Maintenance, etc. the list goes on and on…
Our clients and their horses mean the absolute world to us and these are issues that really make me question why I have faith in humanity anymore. It makes you question why are we putting forth the effort if this is the kind on stuff we have to deal with. It’s unfair and it’s uncalled for.
This post was not made to come off as rude or anything. We are simply trying to explain how difficult it becomes trying to juggle everything and then having to deal with issues of waiting to be paid til whomever decides it’s okay. It is just very stressful and overwhelming..
