First off, thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes! ❤️ We had a great time, and I think the family was definitely happy to have me home for a change. 😂
September and the beginning of October have been WILD with Ridgeview Equine Transport. We’ve been so blessed to be busy, but Erica and I were laughing when we realized that over the last six weeks, I’ve been home a grand total of FOUR NIGHTS. The rest of the time, we’ve basically been rolling from state to state and horse show to horse show. 🐴🚛
Somewhere in there, we’ve made our way through Maine, Minnesota, the Dakotas, Texas, Missouri, Oregon, Washington, and just about everywhere in between. We’ve covered some serious miles and had the privilege of hauling some incredible horses and serving our wonderful clients and friends. At this rate, we might as well start collecting state stickers. 😂
Now we’re taking a little recoup and taper week. Erica and I have IRONMAN this coming Sunday, so it’s time to catch our breath, tackle some truck and trailer maintenance, get everything shipshape for winter, and attempt to put our lives back together before race day.
As I joked with Erica, we’ve got some much-earned time off this week. So naturally, we’re still going to find a way to roll about 1,500 miles and take it easy. No big deal. LOL. 🤣
Because apparently, after spending weeks driving across the country hauling horses, the logical next step is to voluntarily swim, bike, and run for an unreasonable amount of time. For fun. 🤦♂️😂
So yeah, we’re tapering, resting, recovering, and preparing for a nice, relaxing Sunday. What could possibly go wrong?
At this point, I think I just need to wish my legs the best of luck. Ironman doesn’t care how many miles I’ve driven, how little I’ve slept, or how tired I am. Sunday is coming either way! 💪🤣
All jokes aside, I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing horses and clients who have kept us moving, the opportunities Ridgeview has brought our way, and the family that keeps me rolling. ❤️🐴🚛
