Great reminder NOTA Friends, it’s OK to ask for helpπŸ’›

As a reminder, May is Mental Health Awareness Month and though today is the last day of the month, the conversations don't stop here. Each year, the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) helps fight the stigma, educate the public and advocate for policies that support veterans with mental illness and their families.

The MVAA's Link2Life program operates as a bridge to life-saving resources for Michigan veterans and their families. Link2Life is open to all veterans from any branch of the United States Uniformed Services, along with families of enrolled participants. To participate, veterans can call the MVAA’s Michigan Veterans Resource Service Center at 1-800-MICH-VET (800-642-4838).

Please note that the Link2Life program is not a substitute for the Veterans Crisis Line. If you or a loved one is in crisis, dial 988 and press 1 to talk to a caring, qualified responder.

RE: Lane closure on E. Burdick for roof top unit installation

May 27, 2026, UPDATE

The contractor informed us today that this work and lane closure will now take place Wednesday June 3rd, 2026

Red Knapp's at the NE corner of M-24 and E. Burdick Street will be replacing a rooftop HVAC unit on Wednesday June 3rd. In order to get the unit up to the roof a crane needs to be set up on the south side of the restaurant in the Westbound traffic lane of E. Burdick Street.

This will mean that there will only be a single lane WB through the intersection for left turns and through traffic. See the aerial for approximate crane set up location.

We have asked that the crane set-up not start until 9:00 a.m. to allow for the morning commute traffic to get through the area before the closure.

Barrels/cones will also be put in place by the contractors to warn inbound traffic from east of the work area of the closure ahead of them. The sidewalk area under the work area will also be cordoned off with barrels/cones/caution tape.
The crane should only be in this location for a couple of hours.
