A Little Backstory from Andrea & Jeremy 🎸
We are so grateful for the write-up in the News Journal today! They caught up with us on the bus for a full interview, though it looks like most of the article was pulled straight from our bio on the webpage rather than the story we actually shared. So we wanted to take a moment to tell it in our own words to the people who matter most: YOU.
Jeremy and I actually met in high school — barely even friends back then. Years later, after I moved back from LA and he from New York, a random beach yoga session turned into a relationship, and just six months in, we found out we were expecting our twin boys. No long runway, no slow build — just life moving fast and us holding on together.
We started as The JAM (Jeremy and Andria Mix), grinding 7 to 9 gigs a week with not much more than passion and a whole lot of hustle. The people we met along the way became our OG Jammies — and so many of you never left our side. When we became Are Friends Electric, our Jammies became our Electrolytes.
From the Bank and Blues to the Hard Rock, we poured everything into every production we created. And for years, we’d stand at the Bank and Blues and say to each other: “One day, we’re playing the Peabody.”
Thursday, that day is here. 🎶
