We are searching for an experienced trailer mechanic to join our team and take on the responsibilities of inspecting and maintaining the mechanical and electrical parts of our trailers. The responsibilities of the trailer mechanic include servicing and repairing trailer parts, compiling inspection reports, and ensuring that trailers are roadworthy.

-Performing preventative maintenance measures: ABS, brake componants, lights, mount/dismount tires, small roof patches, wiring repairs.

-Perform daily yard checks

-Ensuring that trailers meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.

-Compiling inspection reports, documenting repairs, and reporting all findings to management.

Tuesday - Saturday schedule, 10 hour days, 50 hour week with overtime after 40.

Churchill Transportation is looking to add a Diesel Truck Mechanic to our team!

Some job duties included, but not limited to:

-Consulting the customer and reading work orders to evaluate the tasks required

-Preparing work plans after fully scoping out the issues

-Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions

-Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts

-Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown

-Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance

-Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment and brake checks

-Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles

10 hour days, 5 days a week with overtime opportunity.

Winter Safety Reminders for Truckers!

Always be prepared- Be sure to carry an emergency kit in case you find yourself stuck or stranded in freezing temperatures: blankets, extra warm clothing and jackets, extra food and water, a flashlight, and waterproof boots.

Keep a safe distance behind other drivers- It’s important to not drive too close to other vehicles, if the person in front of you needs to come to a quick stop you need to be sure you have allowed yourself ample time and space to safely stop your rig.

Make sure trailer lights are visible- Clear lights of all snow and ice after every fuel stop, break, pickup, and delivery.

Beware of ice on bridges- Bridges always ice faster than normal roadways because the freezing air surrounds the surface from above and below. Bridges have no way to trap heat, so ice forms extremely fast.

Always find a safe place to park if you must pull over and wait out the storm. Avoid shoulders and off-ramps. Low visibility may hinder other drivers from seeing you parked until it’s too late.
