"Before I became a full-time chauffeur for my niece's 5th grade drum lessons, I used to ________."

She discovered drums at 9. I discovered that my car has a "max volume" setting I never knew about.

I love this girl. I will drive her everywhere. But I used to have Wednesday evenings to myself.

Caregiver, uncle, neighbor, cousin β€” PiggyBack is for every person who shows up for a child.

Tell us what YOU gave up. And then let us help you get a little of it back.

"Before I became a full-time chauffeur for my 7th grader's dance company rehearsals, I used to ________."

I danced too. In another life.

Now I sit in parking lots for 90 minutes every Thursday watching TikTok and pretending I'm not exhausted.

She is magic on that stage. Every performance is worth it.

But I'd love one Thursday a month where I drop her off and actually go somewhere.

PiggyBack Network has trusted parent drivers, same route, same school. Your child gets dropped off today with your PiggyBack match covering the route. And next week you return the favor.

Let's talk about the word nobody wants to say out loud at pickup:

Burnout.

The Surgeon General's "Parents Under Pressure" advisory describes parental burnout as the result of "chronic stress" from the "constant juggling act" of career, family, and logistics.

It is not a personal weakness. It is a predictable outcome of an unsustainable load.

Parents in Chicago describe it this way in their own words:

"Your entire life will revolve around it."
"It's an hour of driving a day... and that's before anything goes wrong."
"I commute 2.5 hours round trip every day. It sucks."

These are not complaints. They are diagnostic reports.

PiggyBack Network isn't a cure for burnout. But it is a load-sharing mechanism & load-sharing is exactly what the science says helps.

When one parent covers one trip, another parent gets one morning back. Multiply that across a community, and you've built something that actually moves the needle.

🚫 MYTH: Using PiggyBack always costs money out of pocket.

βœ… BUSTED!
This might be the most empowering thing we tell parents.

PiggyBack runs on a points system. Families who request rides spend points. Families who drive earn them.

Here's where it gets interesting: active Driving Members can earn enough PiggyBack Points through their regular driving that they never have to purchase points to request rides on their own days off.

You drive three mornings a week on your way to work anyway. You earn points. On the Friday you know you'll be stuck in a meeting, you use those points to request a ride for your child. Your net cost? Zero.

This isn't a gig economy hustle. There's no cash payout for drivers and that's intentional, to keep PiggyBack a true community carpool rather than a for-hire service. But the points you earn are real and fully redeemable.
"We drove a friend too." That's exactly how PiggyBack was meant to work.

If you drive past a family's school every morning, you already have value on this platform. We're just helping you use it.

Before I became a full-time chauffeur for my 3rd grade grandson's violin lessons,
I used to ________.

I started driving him when his mama went back to work. It was supposed to be "temporary."

That was two years ago. He's only getting bigger & better at the instrument.

I love this child with everything I have. But I used to have a Thursday church group. And a Tuesday walk with my neighbor Diane.

What did you give up? You're not alone.

PiggyBack helps caregivers of every kind share the ride... safely, reliably, and with families you can trust.

The Surgeon General's 2024 advisory called out a number that deserves its own conversation:

More than 75% of single parents report feeling lonely.

Three out of four.

For single parents navigating Chicago's school choice landscape (selective enrollment commutes, extracurricular commitments, the daily arithmetic of being the only driver) the transportation burden doesn't get split. It doesn't get shared. It just… falls on one person, every day.

PiggyBack Network was built to change that math.

Our background-checked, route-matched carpool community means single parents have trusted families heading their direction. Not a random rideshare. Not a favor that carries social debt. A fair, points-based exchange with parents who understand exactly what you're carrying... because THEY'RE CARRYING IT, TOO.

To every single parent doing all of this alone: we see you. We built something for you.

"Before I became a full-time chauffeur for my 4th grader's swim team,
I used to ________."

5:45 AM. That's when we leave.

I used to run in the mornings. I used to read the news over coffee. I used to remember what quiet felt like.

He loves the water. He was made for it. And I will drive him every single day.

But if another family is heading to the same pool... I'm booking my PiggyBack Match.

🚫 MYTH: Families with the least resources are the last ones who'd be able to use PiggyBack.

βœ… BUSTED... and this one is close to our heart.

Transportation access is an equity issue in Chicago. We've always known that. The families who most need a reliable school commute are often the same ones with the fewest backup options.

A Local School Council member told reporters her dual-language school's enrollment was at risk; not because of academics, but because low-income families couldn't make the commute work.

PiggyBack Network has a direct answer for that:

Schools, youth sports programs, and nonprofit organizations can purchase PiggyBack Points on behalf of their member families. Thus covering rides the way a scholarship covers tuition.

We've already partnered with non-profits in Chicago to do exactly this. School districts are reaching out about potential partnerships. This isn't aspirational. It's already happening.

If you're connected to a school, church, community organization, or nonprofit serving Chicago families β€” ask us about how your organization can sponsor rides.

No family should miss school because the ride didn't show up.

"Before I became a full-time chauffeur for my little sister's 8th grade theater rehearsals, I used to ________."

I'm 22. I live at home. I love my sister. And I have driven her to the Lyric Opera Building more times than I've been to the gym this year.

She's going to be a star. We all really believe that. But I'd also like my Tuesday evenings back. Sometimes I whisper it so I don't feel so guilty.

What did you give up for your loved one's commute? Let us know.

PiggyBack Network helps every kind of family share the drive... parents, guardians, siblings, grandparents.

We've got your back.

Research from 2025 quantified something Chicago parents already knew in their bones:

Social connectedness doesn't just feel good. It statistically reduces parenting stress.

A peer-reviewed study found that higher social connectedness moderates the effect of loneliness on parenting stress... meaning that the more CONNECTED you are to your community, the less loneliness damages your mental health, even when it's present.

This is the science behind "it takes a village."

The village isn't a metaphor. It's a mental health intervention.

PiggyBack Network is, at its core, a community-building platform. When you join, you're not just getting a carpool. You're entering a network of parents who
- know your route (because they drive it, also)
- know your child's school (because their child attends their, also)
- know what it feels like to be stretched across a city with too many pickups and not enough hours (because, again, they're just as stretched)

That neighbor who covered your Tuesday drop-off? That's medicine.

Let's build the village together.
