The Fourth of July — also known as Independence Day or July 4th — has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution.

On July 2nd, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, and two days later delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson.

From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence, with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues.

Interesting facts:

The stars on the original American flag were in a circle so all the Colonies would appear equal.

Americans take their July 4 celebrations seriously. On this day, some 150 million hot dogs will be eaten!

Five years after presenting the initial concept, has finally unveiled the finished version of its Mercedes-AMG Project ONE. Arriving with a 1,063-horsepower hybrid powertrain, the vehicle transfers the latest hybrid tech to a street-legal car for the first time. The One hypercar is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 engine and four electric motors which takes it from 0-62 mph in just 2.9 seconds. ⁠

Proportions on the upcoming cars are also based on a mid-engine concept featuring large wheel arches, a wasp waist, a dynamic roofline, and a vertical shark fin. As for interiors, a futuristic cockpit is present with smooth contours along with carbon-fiber support structures, sculpted racing seats, and a rectangular steering wheel. The first of the Mercedes-AMG One cars are set to be delivered towards the end of 2022 as all production models have already been pre-ordered at a reported price of $2.7 million USD.⁠

In celebration of AMG‘s 55th anniversary, Mercedes-AMG has now created a limited-edition 2023 CLA 45.

Dubbed the 2023 Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 Edition 55, the new vehicle pays tribute to the automaker’s 55th birthday by being limited to just 55 units made for the U.S. market. The car itself is mechanically identical to the standard edition, meaning its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine will generate 382 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque pushed through all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission and shift paddles. 0-60mph comes in at just four seconds.

Alpina XB7 gains V8 mild-hybrid powertrain and fresh design
Revised SUV also has new iDrive system, over-the-air updates and BMW's illuminated front grille

The Alpina XB7, the German performance firm’s upgraded version of the BMW X7 SUV, has gained a host of upgrades, including a new V8 engine, updated driver assistance tech and an exterior redesign.

Changes under the bonnet are focused on a new 4.4-litre bi-turbo V8 powertrain. It features mild-hybrid technology for the first time, although peak outputs are unchanged at 612bhp and 590lb ft.
