Job description
The driver transports developmentally disabled individuals between home and Day program location on a fixed route with a set schedule. Providing door-to-door service, while safely obeying all traffic laws, federal and state laws, and departmental policies.
Hiring one regular and substitutes positions.
Time
Transport clients between home and Day program location in Am and Pm. Like that of a school bus driver. Part-time hours available. With other opportunities to increase your hours if you wish.

Route: Washington- Clinton- Milford New Jersey area
the office is located in Phillipsburg NJ
Pay
$20 hourly Minimum based on various factors could be substantially more.
Supervision
To move passengers smoothly from one destination to another, you must be able to supervise the loading and unloading of passengers. That may mean guiding passengers to the appropriate seat and monitoring the behavior of your clients while you are driving. You must be able to forge relationships with your passengers and understand their needs, applying effective communication techniques. To effectively supervise your riders, you must be able to speak in a clear voice so that all passengers, regardless of their disabilities, can hear and understand your instructions.
Equipment
Your primary job description includes the ability to operate the vehicle and perform visual inspections and operation safety checks on assigned vehicles used to transport to ensure it is in safe operating order. Check for mechanical and other equipment problems requiring attention and report any repairs needed. Check assigned vehicles for gas, oil, and water levels prior to departure and ensure any deficiencies found and noted in previous inspections have been corrected. Complete Maintenace check logs and mileage logs. The driver is responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle, which directly affects passenger safety and comfort.
Ensure Safety
Like other transportation drivers, it is your duty to ensure the maximum safety of your passengers. Park vehicles at loading and unloading areas so that passengers can board safely. Assist passengers when needed in and out of vehicles to ensure they are seated, and seat belted properly. Being aware of the individuals' risks at pick up and drop offs and ensure they are safe.
Maintain Schedule
Schedules must be kept and maintained. It is your responsibility to make sure passengers arrive at their destinations on time. You must follow the route designed by your supervisor and follow legal speed limits and driving rules while sticking closely to your appointed schedule.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to safely operate vehicles
Good work history
3+ years of driving experience
Valid Driver's license
Acceptable results on all pre-employment testing and background checks
Must be at least 18 years of age
Clean driving record

will report any unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately

will learn/drive bus routes in the absence of any regular driver
will comply with random drug screenings.
