We had a great time yesterday at the St. Clair County Resource Share at the Rivers Crossing Senior Center!

Staff from West Central Missouri Community Action Agency and New Growth Transit were able to connect with so many local organizations and businesses all working toward the same goal—**building a stronger, more connected community**.

A big thank you to Kali Gober and the staff of On My Own, Incorporated for hosting such a wonderful event. It was a great time to connect, collaborate, and share resources with others serving St. Clair County.

Events like this are a powerful reminder of how much we can accomplish when we come together to support one another. We’re grateful for the opportunity and look forward to continuing to strengthen partnerships across our communities.

💬 Together, we can keep making a difference!

On My Own would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Cedar County Senior Services Tax Board for their generous support and consideration of the Cedar County Senior Grant program.
--This funding plays a vital role in helping seniors in Cedar County remain safely and independently in their own homes while continuing to live with dignity and quality of life. Through this support, we are able to provide essential in-home services for seniors who may not qualify for Medicaid but still need assistance with daily living tasks and supports.
--These services help reduce isolation, increase safety, and allow seniors to continue aging in the communities they know and love. Community partnerships like this truly make a difference in the lives of local residents.
***We are incredibly thankful for the Cedar County Senior Services Tax Board’s commitment to supporting seniors and strengthening independent living opportunities throughout Cedar County.
***Thank you for investing in our community and the individuals we proudly serve.

Common Question ❓

“Does the mileage reimbursement actually cover the cost of driving?”

Great question — and an important one.

That’s exactly why New Growth Transit reimburses volunteer drivers at 72.5 cents per mile, which aligns with the IRS standard mileage reimbursement rate. That rate is designed to reflect the average costs associated with operating a vehicle—including fuel, maintenance, tires, depreciation, and insurance.

It’s one way we support the people who make this service possible.

What We Do 🚐

New Growth Transit is rethinking what transportation looks like in rural west central Missouri.

Traditional public transit systems often rely on fixed routes and large buses — but those models don’t always work in rural communities where distances are greater, populations are spread out, and needs vary from person to person.

That’s why we do things differently.

Instead of running empty buses on set schedules, we connect people to essential destinations — like medical appointments, grocery stores, pharmacies, and more — through a flexible, volunteer-driven network designed specifically for rural life.

Our system is built around real community needs, not outdated models. By working with local drivers who know the area, we’re able to provide transportation that is more responsive, more efficient, and more personal.

This approach helps residents maintain independence, reduces barriers to care and services, and strengthens the connections that keep rural communities thriving.
It’s not just transportation — it’s a practical, community-centered solution that works.
