We Got You

We Got You Local Elkhart taxi service It is distasteful, and I am trying my hardest to change this by offering Taxi Service, that you can rely on.

Since I have started working in the taxi industry almost 3 years ago, I have seen the shortcomings of the Public Transportation Industry. As being someone who knows how to take care of their own, by being a Veteran. I have the capability to offer a service that can be counted on, and relied on. I am safe, and secure with the people I transport. Bilingual in Spanish, and English.

Drunk driving continues to be a major factor making up roughly 25% of the state’s fatal collisions, but alcohol isn’t the only concern.

Research indicates drug prevalence has been on the rise among drivers during the pandemic. Last year, the number of blood samples submitted to the Indiana Department of Toxicology for drug analysis after a crash increased by 7%.

Anyone who transports children need to have them in a car seat. We will support this law.

Did you know vehicle collisions continue to be a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13? The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data shows that approximately 46% of all car seats are being used incorrectly. Parents and caregivers who do not buckle up are more likely to have improperly restrained kids.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to make sure children are in the right car seat and that it's used correctly and properly installed. Resources can be found at www.nhtsa.gov/TheRightSeat. Skimming is on the rise in our area. Skimming is the installation of an unauthorized device to obtain card information and PIN codes. The stolen information is then used to make fraudulent transactions (withdrawals/purchases) without the knowledge of the victim.

The most common skimmer is an overlaid skimmer device placed over the credit card reader and made to look like part of a legitimate machine.

Protect yourself by:
Look for tampering signs such as loose-fitting parts or tape/glue on a credit card machine before inserting or swiping your card.
-Shield your PIN from view as you enter it.
-Stay with the machine if your card becomes stuck and call your bank immediately to report the loss.
-If you locate a skimmer device or suspicious activity related to skimming, report it to the business and local law enforcement immediately.
-Regularly check your card statements for unfamiliar or fraudulent transactions.

I’d like to take a moment and thank all of the first responders and community members who volunteered their time to help with locating Ervin Yoder.

Yesterday morning we received the report that Ervin Yoder had left his family’s residence, and no one knew where he had gone. Ervin suffers from dementia and was in potential danger and finding him was essential for a positive outcome. As the search continued throughout the day, numerous responders and volunteers organized a large search operation which led to the successful conclusion of locating Ervin; a little tired and hungry, but in good health. The best outcome we could have hoped for.

It filled me with pride to see the large outpouring of support for another in need in our community. It was a demonstration of neighbors helping neighbors, and that we are blessed in our community to have such great citizens.

Thank you all for helping assure Ervin’s safety.

Sheriff Jeff Siegel
