Been a long two years for Pollywog. Milton leveling our bulding. Poor rates, high insurance and frivolous lawsuits plaguing our industry. Thanks to our great people and our length in business we survived. This year is looking up. Our new 12,000 sq.foot building is coming along slow but sure. We have purchased some newer equipment and hiring at least three more drivers to help us with our expanding business. Special thanks to all the drivers for their dedication and making their deliveries on time.

It is with great sadness that we have learned Gabriel Sanchez Sr. passed away last Friday. He will be missed. Our condolences to his family. He was a great friend.

Two established Florida trucking companies have shut down. What led to their closure? 1. Insurance premiums are too high, driven by frivolous lawsuits and insurers' preference to settle rather than litigate. 2. Modern trucks are twice as expensive and have shorter lifespans, necessitating the purchase of two trucks per business. 3. Newly trained drivers lack adequate skills and can only drive automatics. 4. Federal sleep regulations pose challenges due to limited parking and dining options for drivers. 5. Law enforcement seems to disregard the hazardous behavior of four-wheelers, who are largely accountable for accidents.

So sad to announce that our driver John Tainter passed away in his sleep on Sept. 26. Our sympathy and prayers go out to his wife Melody and children. John did Arcadia for us and we are all so sad to see him go. We will miss the morning coffee and chats we had he was truly a decent fellow. Rest in peace John.
