🚌 A reminder to Fairfax Connector customers: Be seen, stay safe! As daylight hours get shorter, make sure you're visible to drivers while waiting for the bus and walking to and from your stop. A little extra visibility can make a big difference! 💡
⏰Daylight savings time starts this weekend! You probably know to set your clocks back an hour... but did you know that 4 in 5 fatal pedestrian crashes happen after dark?
With shorter days, that makes pedestrian safety even more important.
🚗 Drivers:
Always stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk -- or waiting to use it -- it's the law!
Be on the lookout for pedestrians outside of crosswalks too -- especially in areas that might not have sidewalks.
🚶🚲 Pedestrians (and Cyclists!):
Wear reflectors or bright clothing.
Use crosswalks where possible.
Don't assume if you can see headlights that cars can see you.
Light up, slow down, look out.
