Razor Commuter Rail is having new locomotives coming on Wednesday which are the 2021 FSP-47s since all the F40PHs are old and now discontinued on the whole fleet. The FSP-47 will have the same numbers as the F40s 1020-1039 but inside the locomotives will have a speedometer, a button to turn on the headlights, a new K5LB horn, and two hand brakes. They also have tires like on a bike so there would be no derailments anytime and shiny blue paint. This engine will be similar to the 41 HSP46s that are still running today since 2017.

Riverview/Helmsmen line now to be a quiet zone in some areas of the line. This means that trains are not supposed to sound their horns except when on a hard turn. The only RR xing on the line is now a horn free zone. The horn on this line disrupted the school and some of the students think that the horns were too loud and very disruptive even when kids are in zoom meetings and FaceTime calls. Once again Riverview/Helmsmen line is the only line on the Razor commuter rail fleet that now a quiet zone but there are always loud zones on the Fairhaven lines and on the SegRail lines of Taunton.

Razor doubleheader engine train which has F40PH-2C 1029 and GP40MC 1117 will go back to school this weekend. First, it will stay in the basement to let all the snow melt on the engines and then Saturday morning, the engines will be behind the car with overhauling engines which are F40PH-2Cs numbers 1022, 1023, 1028, 1031, 1032, 1035, 1036, and 1038 and GP40MCs 1118, 1120, 1126, 1132, and 1136 all the way to school to dormitory shed.

This engine will be gone for good. Razor’s last F40PHM # 1011 will not be operating any more. The F40PHM was put into service in 2016 and ended service in early of 2020. These engines numbers 1000-1019 will now be discontinued on the railway and they were not very useful. They were put with mechanical bells and K5L harmonic horns. 1018 was the first to go. It’s horn was not working and it stopped operating in 2019. 1008 got in an accident right near union street. 1011 derailed and broke down near cushman park in the summer of 2019. Razor is now replacing these F40PHMs with GP40MCs numbers 1115-1139 which were built in late 2019 and now used in 2021. 1011 was the worst reliable engine on the line and is now going to be rotten for good. The top part which are the windows will be gone in the recycling and gone to semass and the bottom part of the engine will just stay in the yard and get rusty. Once again F40PHM Numbers 1000-1019 will not be operating on the Razor Commuter Rail again.
