Summer travel season is here — and so are the scams.
A recent Travel + Leisure article issued an important warning: rising travel costs and limited availability are making people more likely to rush when booking flights, hotels, vacation rentals, and transportation. Unfortunately, scammers know this and are using fake websites, suspicious links, public Wi-Fi, QR codes, and messages that appear to come from trusted travel companies.
It is a good reminder for all of us: slow down before you click, verify who you are booking with, and be careful when a travel deal looks too good to be true.
A few smart travel reminders:
• Book directly with trusted companies
• Be cautious with links in texts, emails, or social media ads
• Avoid entering personal information while using public airport Wi-Fi
• Be careful with unfamiliar QR codes
• Use a wall charger instead of public USB charging ports when possible
• Confirm your airport transportation with a real company and a real person
At VP Executive Car & Limo Service, we believe peace of mind begins before the trip even starts. Whether you are heading to EWR, JFK, LGA, or another destination, booking with a trusted local company means you know who is coordinating your ride, who your professional chauffeur is, and how to reach someone if your plans change.
Summer travel can be busy, but it does not have to be stressful. Plan ahead, verify before you book, and travel safely.
