From the TN Dept of Transportation on Sun, 11-30, 4:47 pm. A major accident closed I-40 Westbound for several hours at Mile Marker 215 creating significant traffic impacts around Nashville International Airport® (BNA®). On this busiest travel day of the Thanksgiving holiday, as friends and family arrive to pick up and drop off loved ones, our Department of Public Safety is actively managing traffic lights and extensively directing traffic throughout the airport area to help improve flow and reduce delays.
Please follow these travel tips:
- Avoid circling the terminal roadways. This only adds to congestion.
Do not park on Terminal Dr
- Use the free Cell Lot at 1415 Murfreesboro Pike. It offers ample parking and real-time flight information displays.
- Check with your airline for the latest flight status before heading to the airport.
- Utilize designated pick-up and drop-off zones to keep traffic moving smoothly.
If you engage an Uber or Lyft. Do not make your request until you are in the designated Rideshare Pick up Lane in the Ground Transportation Center on Level One of Terminal Garage 2. The Rideshare App will pair you with a vehicle that is already queued up there.
To facillite your timely exit from the Airport you can hail a Taxi that is queued up in the Limo Taxi Garage. It is located to the right of the Main Terminal Exit on Level One BEFORE the driveway on the way to the Rideshare pick up zone. That Garage is NOT geofenced for Rideshare pick ups. You cannot make a request for a Rideshare from there..
