The mornings are getting cooler, the days are getting shorter, and fall is settling in across the Southeast.

For our drivers, that means another season of early starts, changing weather, busy highways, and taking care of customers wherever the road leads.

We appreciate all of our Highways & Skyways drivers who are out there every day representing our company and keeping freight moving.

🚛 This Week on the Road — Bradenton, Florida

Our driver Eddie sent us these pictures while making a delivery to a construction site in Bradenton, Florida.

As you can see, not every delivery is backing into a nice wide loading dock! Our regional drivers go wherever our customers need us, and sometimes that means navigating a busy construction site to get the freight where it belongs.

Eddie has been a regional driver with Highways & Skyways for 10½ years, and many of you may recognize him—he's been one of the faces we've used in our driver recruiting over the years.

There's a reason for that.

When we're looking for new drivers, we're looking for more people like the professional drivers who have helped build this company—people who take care of the equipment, take care of our customers, and represent Highways & Skyways well wherever the road takes them.

There’s something about the view from behind the wheel that most of us in the office don't get to experience.

🚛 This Week on the Road

Here's something you don't see behind one of our trucks every day!

Our driver Victor Davidson sent us this photo while working on one of our dedicated customer accounts.

While Highways & Skyways is primarily a dry van carrier, this particular dedicated operation includes moving the customer's tanker as part of the work we handle for them.

Dedicated accounts require drivers who learn the customer's operation and understand what needs to happen each day. Vic does a great job taking care of this account and representing Highways & Skyways with our customer.

👥 Meet the Team – Lynn Nichols

This week, we’re proud to introduce Lynn Nichols, a broker with the freight brokerage division of Highways & Skyways Transportation.

Lynn celebrated an impressive milestone on August 6th — 14 years with Highways & Skyways!

Over those 14 years, Lynn has helped countless customers find solutions for their transportation needs, worked with carriers across the country, and become an important part of the team behind our brokerage operation.

Freight brokerage is a business built on relationships, communication, and trust. Lynn brings all three to work every day, and the relationships she has developed with customers and carriers over the years are a big part of what makes her so valuable to our company.

This week's spotlight goes to Howard Roache Jr.

Howard recently had two clean DOT inspections in just three days—an accomplishment that doesn't happen by accident.

Clean inspections are the result of doing the little things right every day: thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, taking pride in your equipment, operating safely, and following the regulations that keep our highways safe.

Howard has been part of the Highways & Skyways Transportation team for more than seven years and has spent over 30 years as a professional driver. His dedication to safety and professionalism allows us to provide the dependable service our customers count on every day.

Howard, thank you for representing Highways & Skyways so well and for demonstrating what professionalism in trucking looks like. We appreciate everything you do!

Meet David Carter, our Regional/OTR Dispatcher.

David has been with Highways & Skyways Transportation for more than 12 years, but his trucking experience goes back over 50 years. His knowledge of this industry is something our drivers, customers, and team rely on every day.

My relationship with David actually goes back to 1997, when we first worked together. Over the years, I've seen firsthand the professionalism, integrity, and calm approach he brings to every challenge.
