June 15 - World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
Older adults can become more vulnerable when transportation, isolation, or health concerns make it harder to stay connected to community and support systems.
At TASC Rides, we believe safe, respectful transportation matters.
Today is also an important reminder that New Hampshire law requires any person who has reason to believe a vulnerable adult has experienced abuse, neglect, exploitation, or self-neglect to report it.
Reports can be made to the Bureau of Adult & Aging Care Services:

June 14 - Flag Day
Happy Flag Day.
Today reminds us that community shows up in many forms - including the neighbors in Hampton Falls and across the Seacoast who volunteer their time to help others get where they need to go.
We're SO grateful to be part of a community that values service and support in quiet, practical ways.

June 13 - Global Wellness Day
Wellness is not one-size-fits-all.
For some TASC Rides riders, wellness means getting to physical therapy consistently.
For others, it means staying socially connected, keeping medical appointments, or maintaining independence at home.
Transportation affects all of those things more than people realize.
We are grateful to the volunteer drivers helping riders in Kensington and throughout the Seacoast stay connected to the care and routines that matter to them.

June 12 - Superman Day
We think our volunteer drivers are superheroes.
Not because they have capes or unlimited availability, but because they show up when they can and help neighbors get where they need to go.
A volunteer in Stratham may help with a local medical appointment one week and a grocery run the next.
Another may only be available a few times a month. Some prefer short trips. Others are comfortable with longer distances when schedules allow.
Transportation support doesn't require perfect schedules or unlimited free time. It works because many people help in manageable ways.

June 11 - National Making Life Beautiful Day
Agnes, a long-time TASC Rides rider, started using a walker after her mobility changed.
She had a complicated relationship with it.
Managing the walker, her purse, and everyday errands all at once was frustrating.
Then her granddaughter gave her a bicycle basket with flowers attached to the front.
Now Agnes says it feels like her granddaughter is with her wherever she goes.
Sometimes support looks practical.
Sometimes it looks personal.
Sometimes it's both.

One thing many new volunteers are surprised by is how flexible TASC Rides actually is.
Drivers choose rides based on their own availability, comfort level, and schedule. Some help once a week. Others help a few times a month. Some stay local to towns like Exeter or Rye, while others are open to longer trips when possible.
There is no expectation that volunteers take every request.
The goal is simply to build a network of neighbors helping neighbors when schedules line up and rides can be covered.

June 7 - National Cancer Survivor's Day
TASC Rides volunteer drivers provide rides to and from medical appointments, including cancer treatment visits throughout the Seacoast area.
People going through treatment are already managing enough. Knowing transportation has been arranged can remove at least one layer of stress from the day.
Our volunteer drivers are neighbors giving their time when they can to help people get where they need to go safely and comfortably.

June 5 - Thank You Day
Today felt like a good day to say thank you.
Thank you to the volunteer drivers coordinating schedules, adjusting plans around weather and traffic, and helping riders throughout our Seacoast communities.
Thank you to the donors and supporters helping keep rides available across Brentwood, Exeter, Rye, Seabrook, and the surrounding towns we serve.
Transportation support is a community effort. We are grateful to everyone who helps make it possible.

June 4 - Shopping Cart Day
A grocery trip is rarely just a grocery trip.
For some TASC Rides riders, shopping in Stratham or Hampton Falls may also be one of the few times they get out, walk around, see familiar faces, or pick out something for themselves instead of relying on delivery.
Transportation affects small decisions people make every week.
Volunteer drivers help riders get where they planned to go, when schedules and availability allow.

June 2 - Age Without Apology Month

At TASC Rides, we spend a lot of time talking about independence,
mobility, and staying connected to the community.

None of those things have an expiration date.

Getting older is not something to "fight." It's something people experience differently, with different needs, routines, and priorities.

For some riders, that means getting to physical therapy in Greenland.
For others, it means grocery shopping in Exeter, a haircut in Seabrook, or meeting a friend for coffee after an appointment.

Transportation helps people continue making their own decisions and participating in daily life.
