Robert Thatcher has wrapped up a great week at the Neutral Air Partner OPENAP Morocco 2026.

The conference brought together some of the best minds in air cargo to discuss industry trends, AI, partnership growth, and the future of wholesale logistics. It was also a great opportunity to reconnect with trusted partners, strengthen existing relationships, and build new ones that will benefit our customers.

A special congratulations to our South African partner, Aero Africa, on being crowned Member of the Year. A well-deserved achievement, and one we're proud to celebrate alongside you.

To us here at AWA, World Ocean’s Day is a reminder that global trade depends on healthy oceans and responsible logistics practices - without it, we would not be able to continue do what we do best. That’s why we are always looking for ways to reduce unnecessary environmental impacts across our supply chain.

One example of this is the fact that we offer an eco-friendlier on-site heat treatment services in Los Angeles. Not only does this reduce overall carbon emissions (because we do not have to truck freight to- and from a fumigation facility) but the treatment releases less chemicals into the environment (when compared to standard methyl bromide treatment practices).

We know that - in the grand scheme of things - this is considered a very small act but we believe that it’s the small things that matter the most.

We asked Brittany Walker to share a few words about Lizeth and here’s what she said:

“Lizeth is an integral part of our day-to-day operations. She’s someone we rely on without hesitation. She consistently shows up with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to getting things done right. Whether it’s stepping in to solve a problem, keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, or taking initiative when it matters most, Lizeth is always someone we can count on.

What stands out most is how much she genuinely cares. She goes above and beyond for her customers, making sure they know they can count on her to not only move their shipments but to provide solutions when necessary, and she’s just as dedicated to her teammates. She is always willing to help, share knowledge, and lift others up. She brings a sense of reliability, teamwork, and pride in her work that has a lasting impact on our culture.

There truly aren’t enough words to capture the value Lizeth brings to not only our FCL Team, but to AWA as a whole. The time, effort, and heart she puts into everything she does do not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for it.”

Graham Burford, Robert Thatcher and Richard Marquez attended the annual CNS Partnership Conference, joining air cargo professionals from across the U.S. industry for conversations around the future of freight forwarding, airline partnerships and the changing demands of global cargo.

This year’s theme, “Elevating Air Cargo: Partnerships, Progress & Possibilities,” came through strongly in sessions covering AI and technology in air cargo, the current state of the U.S. air cargo market, ONE Record implementation, e-commerce growth, dangerous goods compliance and the upcoming changes under the U.S. ACE Export Manifest.

For AWA, events like this are a valuable opportunity to stay close to the conversations shaping the industry, strengthen relationships across the air cargo value chain and bring fresh insight back to the work we do every day.

Los Angeles Air Cargo Day brought together the best of the LAX air cargo community, and AWA was proud to be part of such a strong industry gathering.

With airlines, freight forwarders, ground handlers, trucking companies, technology providers, and logistics professionals all in one place, the event was a great reminder of how connected and collaborative this industry truly is.

A big thank you to the Los Angeles Air Cargo Association, the event chairs, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this year’s Air Cargo Day such a success.

Events like these do more than bring the industry together. They support the next generation of logistics and aviation professionals through LAACA’s scholarship initiatives, helping build the future of our industry.
