Pre-trip inspections are necessary for commercial vehicles because they help make sure the vehicle is safe to operate before it goes on the road. They allow drivers to catch problems early, such as tire issues, brake defects, fluid leaks, damaged lights, or loose equipment, before those problems turn into accidents, breakdowns, or costly repairs. In addition, they are an important part of DOT and FMCSA compliance, showing that the vehicle is being properly checked and maintained according to safety standards.

On top of performing required pre/post trip inspections - we are always encouraging our drivers to do a walk around at any point in their shift where time permits whether that’s waiting to go into location or while they are fueling up.
