Our Music Room is complete and I’m 99% sure I won’t want to remodel it again any time soon!

Keep scrolling for the evolution of it. She’s been through some changes.

If someone said you need to have a room to describe you, this would be mine. I love creating beautiful spaces and music is my happy place. There’s a really good chance I’ll never play for you because it scares me to death, but this is where I come to clear my head and take a breather.

There’s a reason Brett keeps saying, “we’re remodeling the remodel.” He’s not wrong. But for a space that means so much to me, we had to get it right.

This room holds guitars that were either owned by my late dad or given to me by my mom or late grandpa. It has beautiful pictures of my babies. The piano was an anniversary gift from Brett. The window seat is cozy and the moody color makes it the perfect space to reset. I officially love it and hope you guys do too!

It’s also holds the memory of Brett loudly proclaiming, “ I’m not an electrician!” as he wired the sconces in. That’s another story for another day though 😂

Ok, I promise the big reveal is coming this week, but before we do I need to take a moment to thank the one who always makes it happen.

He really likes to remind me we’re “remodeling the remodel” all the time, but the reality is, if I ask he’ll do it. Our minds are normally a million places and focused on our other projects so adding another task to the mix isn’t always ideal or easy. However, he smiles, maybe shakes his head and then we get started!

We’re a good team. Not just at life, but with what we do. And frankly, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like working with him!

Brett, you’re the real MVP. What’s next at the “remodel”?!

(Side note: He unconsciously always points a toe when standing. I mean who could resist that! 😂)

Harry and I have a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!

This week we’ll be revealing the complete redo of our music room so stay tuned! 🎶🎶🎶

It’s super special to me and always fun to do projects at our own home. I’d say this was probably the easiest one yet….Brett may have different thoughts, but that’s what I think 😂

Did you know we furnish spaces too? This bedroom was part of a complete remodel, but we loved giving it character with color, texture and all the coziness!

Just when you think a room needs a complete redo, trust us when we say new furnishings can make all the difference without any of the construction headaches.

When the homeowner trusts us, that’s where the magic happens. Did my contractor (aka husband, Brett) gripe a little about making these oak door casings work? Well sure, but he made it happen like always and loved how it turned out too!

These symmetrical door openings on either side of the vent hood really pop now. The rock backsplash tucks so nicely behind that trim that it’s a match made in heaven!

Ahh, the powder bath. It deserves to have a moment. Especially, if the kitchen right next to it gets a major glow-up!

We made some easy swaps to give this space the update it needed. The limestone tile, marble top, polished nickel hardware and blue color drench elevate this space in a peaceful way.

The Riverside Project Kitchen BEFORE and AFTER is here!!

It’s always fun when Brett and I get to work together on a project! I’m sure I drive him crazy along the way but we really do make a great team.

We managed to make drastic changes to this space without changing the overall footprint. Other than filling in a doorway, we literally just started back at the beginning with a fresh perspective.

The plaster vent hood stands out between the stained cabinets and appliances are much more hidden so they’re not stealing the show anymore. This kitchen now has function, openness and is a much more enjoyable space to spend time in.

BEFORE AND AFTER! This breakfast nook is the perfect example of what a difference lighter colors can make. Nothing major besides a light fixture swap. Other than that, it’s just a new table, rug, dining chairs and art.

Keep watching for this space Before! Sometimes you just need a new perspective for the exact same space. We didn’t take down walls or have to move plumbing, but just by changing tile, vanities, lighting, countertops and a few other small details we completely changed the look of this bathroom. It’s timeless, bright and happy now!

Pocket door cabinets are perfect spot for those messy appliances! When you’re working through cabinet design it really helps to leave the bottom open to your countertops. They’re easy to slide an appliance out on and wipe down easily.

If you’re working with a cabinet shop or designer it really helps to have a list of items and their sizes that need to be accommodated in a specific way. You’ll be glad you know planned ahead for a gem like this!!
