Orange EV Orange EV builds, sells and services industrial electric vehicles for some of the most successful companies in the world.

Kansas City based Orange EV is the leading OEM providing industrial fleets with heavy duty electric vehicle solutions that are proven to save money while being safer, more reliable, and preferred by drivers and management alike. Orange EV is the leading OEM providing heavy duty electric vehicle solutions to industrial fleets that do the same work while eliminating diesel fuel and emissions. Buildi

ng both new and remanufactured vehicles, Orange EV and the T-Series have achieved a series of industry firsts:

- first to commercially deploy 100% electric Class 8 electric vehicles into container handling operations
- first approved for sale as a heavy duty electric vehicle in California
- first approved for and funded under regional and national incentive programs
- first to cost parity so fleets can deploy electric trucks using budgets planned for diesels
- first with hard data from a deployed fleet that demonstrates truck endurance, cost savings and more

Orange EV's first offering was the pure electric terminal truck designed with configuration options to ensure the truck got the job done while helping fleets manage cost. We introduced the electric terminal truck as a complete remanufacture of existing trucks, reusing and giving a second life to durable elements like the cab and frame. Then we started building all new trucks while continuing to innovate and improve the product lines. In the process Orange EV became the first U.S. company to build, commercially deploy and service 100% electric Class 8 Heavy Duty trucks. Orange EV’s values derive from the need to build a business and products of which both we and our customers can be proud. It is important to us that what we do, and how we do it, is accomplished with thought and integrity to deliver value and earn our customers every day.

APM Terminals Pier 400, has expanded its Orange EV fleet.

The expansion builds on the success of the 20 Orange EV HUSK-e® trucks already in operation, which have delivered 42,000 zero-emission operating hours and 98.8% uptime while displacing more than 40,700 diesel-equivalent gallons.

With this deployment, Pier 400 will become the first container terminal at the Port of Los Angeles to fully electrify its on-dock rail drayage fleet and will convert approximately 60% of its terminal tractor fleet to battery-electric operation.

As ports continue evaluating where electrification delivers the greatest impact, terminal trucks remain one of the most proven and practical applications for zero-emission equipment.

The conversation around yard electrification has changed.

For years, fleets focused on evaluating whether electric yard trucks could meet the demands of daily operations. Today, the question is increasingly how quickly proven solutions can be deployed at scale.

The largest order in Orange EV history is another sign that yard electrification has moved beyond pilot programs and into mainstream fleet operations.

As Zack Ruderman, VP of Sales and Marketing, shared in ACT News:

"Fleets spent years validating the technology, and now they're acting on the data."

After more than a decade of deployments, millions of operating hours, and proven performance in the field, fleets have the information they need to make electrification decisions with confidence.

The most successful sustainability initiatives don't require a tradeoff between environmental goals and business goals.

They accomplish both.

As Kurt Neutgens discusses in his ACT News article, years of deployments, operational data, and fleet experience have changed the conversation. Today's discussions are increasingly focused on reliability, economics, and operational performance.

Sustainability may open the door, but long-term adoption happens when fleets see measurable business value.

An insightful perspective on how the industry is evolving from evaluation to ex*****on.

More than a decade ago, Orange EV set out to prove that electric terminal trucks could outperform diesel in demanding yard operations.

Today, we've reached a milestone that once seemed unimaginable.

Orange EV has received an order for 600 electric terminal trucks. The largest order in company history.

This milestone is about more than 600 trucks. It's a reflection of how far the industry has come and the growing confidence fleets have in electric terminal trucks as a proven solution for high-utilization operations.

From delivering our first truck to surpassing 12 million key-on hours, supporting 360+ fleets across 41 states, Canada, and the Caribbean, every milestone has been made possible by the customers, employees, and supporters who believed in what we were building.

As fleets move beyond pilot programs and begin deploying electric equipment at scale, terminal trucks continue proving their value through reliable performance, lower operating costs, and reduced emissions.

We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey and excited for what comes next.

A recent Transport Topics article covering discussions from ACT Expo reinforced something we've seen across hundreds of fleet deployments:

“The yard tractor market is proving a best-fit application for EV.”

With predictable duty cycles, centralized charging, and significant opportunities to reduce fuel and maintenance costs, terminal trucks continue to be one of the most practical starting points for fleet electrification.

As more fleets transition from evaluating EVs to operating them every day, electric yard trucks are helping demonstrate what successful electrification looks like in logistics operations.
