Peterbilt launches limited edition Freedom 250 Special Edition Model 589🖇

📣Peterbilt Motors Company rolled out a limited-edition Model 589 to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday.

On May 21, 2026, Peterbilt debuted the Freedom 250 Special Edition Model 589, “a limited-production truck honoring the enduring spirit of America and the nation’s historic 250th birthday.”

Peterbilt will only build 250 of the trucks, making them “a collector’s item and a bold statement of Peterbilt pride.”

Over 600 commercial vehicle operators apprehended as part of ICE partnership with Oklahoma troopers📣

💭The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) released results from an ongoing immigration enforcement effort targeting commercial vehicle drivers.

On May 21, 2026, OHP released an update on “Operation Guardian,” which was first announced in 2025 as a partnership between troopers and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to enforce immigration laws on Oklahoma roadways.

Since April 2025, Operation Guardian has resulted in the apprehension of 600 commercial vehicle operators for immigration violations, according to OHP.

OHP also shared results from regional emphasis patrols conducted in partnership with ICE that resulted in 1,338 commercial vehicle inspections and the apprehension of 162 commercial vehicle drivers.

'No CDL required' for U-Haul's new Peterbilt moving trucks☑️

💭U-Haul rolled out a new larger moving truck as part of a partnership with truck maker Peterbilt.

On May 20, U-Haul debuted the “Easy Mover” (EM) truck with 29-feet of cargo space as part of the company’s first-ever partnership with Peterbilt.

U-Haul says that the EM is the largest box truck available to date, with the cargo capacity to move a household of 4- to 6-bedrooms.

The EM “packs plenty of power, looking and feeling like a diesel engine” but runs on regular unleaded gas, U-Haul said.

A teaser image of the EM truck shared on May 19 was captioned “no CDL required.”

Love's opens New Mexico store with 63 truck parking spaces, reopens Indiana and Texas locations🔗

📌Love’s Travel Stops opened a new store located in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, and reopened two other locations following renovations.

On May 22, 2026, Love’s announced the opening of a store at 224 Dr. Hubble Road in Truth or Consequences, off I-25 at Exit 79.

“Located between existing travel stops in Las Cruces and Albuquerque, the new location in Truth or Consequences provides a much-needed stop for professional drivers and motorists navigating I-25 in New Mexico. This expansion directly supports the national supply chain by adding essential truck parking and fueling capacity in a region where reliable, clean amenities are vital for driver safety and vehicle efficiency,” said Love’s.

More than 900 commercial vehicles inspected in North Texas as part of Roadcheck blitz🖇

💭The Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) – North Texas Region released results from last week’s Roadcheck inspection campaign.

As part of the larger 2026 Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) International Roadcheck effort which took place May 12 — 14, multiple law enforcement agencies from the northern Texas area partnered to conduct Level I commercial vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
