Today mark an important day as we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who is widely regarded as America's pre-eminent advocate of nonviolence and one of the greatest nonviolent leaders in world history. Drawing inspiration from both his Christian faith and the peaceful teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. King led a nonviolent movement in the late 1950s and ‘60s to achieve legal equality for African Americans in the United States. He is memorialized in hundreds of statues, parks, streets, squares, churches, and other public facilities around the world as a leader whose teachings are increasingly relevant to the progress of humankind. Today we celebrate The Movement, The Moment, The Man!

Met with Coach Lonnie Kruger who is a retired American college and professional basketball coach. He served as a head coach at Univ. of Texas – Pan American, Kansas State, Univ. of Florida, Univ. of Illinois, and UNLV as well as the Head Coach for the NBA Team Atlanta Hawks. Thirty (30) years ago, Coach Kruger and other coaches founded an organization called Coaches for Cancers. This organization provides transportation for cancer patients. The purpose of our meeting was to discuss MV Paratransit. Currently their organization is transporting 25% of all requests made by patients. By MV Paratransit partnering with Coaches for Cancer we can achieve the goal that anyone who need to get to their appointment “can”.

This is a time to reflect on the year that’s gone by and the year that’s brand new. We will meet again in the New Year with a lot of new ideas and new energy. Happy New Year 2023!

There is no greater way of giving back to your community than giving your Time. The MV Team participated in several community outreach projects that included assisting at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, The Just One Project, and Lighthouse Charities. It’s your “Acts of Kindness” that certainly made a difference in someone life that is less fortunate. A huge thank you to the Team Members of Divisions 222 and 593. We were represented by Team Members of multiple departments such as Human Resources, Customer Service, Maintenance and Operations who took time out of their busy day. Thank you for giving back in the most charitable way. You made MV Proud!

MV participated in the 6th Annual “Stuff the Bus” Toy Drive for The Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation. Our MV Family from both Division 222 and 593 donated toys for this wonderful cause. The toys were collected by MV and delivered to the Keller Williams Realty Southwest location where the community came out to drop off their donations as well. A special Thank You to Donavin Morgan who has been our “Go To” Operator for this along with so many special events that MV have participated in over the years. Thank you MV Team for your donations that will place a smile on the face of so many children.

On Thanksgiving Day, MV hosted a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner for all our Operators who had to work on this day. A special thank you to all staff members who took their personal time to come out and show our Operators how much MV cares.
