She got everyone to school on time.

She remembered every birthday.

She kept the whole family moving for decades.

Now, sometimes, she rides in the back of our car. To dialysis on Tuesday. To her grandson's communion in Astoria on Sunday. To the daughter she raised, who lives one borough too far for a bus.

And sometimes — she's the one driving the car. She packed lunches for her own kids before her 6am shift. She knows every passenger's first name and every route by feel. She's the reason somebody else's mom gets home.
