There is no substitute for the high BTU’s and steady burn of anthracite. We operate several different installations of stoker-boilers and stoker-stoves here ourselves and are very familiar with the different manufacturers on the market. We also have contacts that offer refurbished units at a better price than new. Talk to us about how anthracite coal can save you money and keep you much more comfortable!

Although the winter is starting to wind down, it isn't too early to start planning on next winter. After just surviving the coldest winter in a decade, the demand for the consistent warmth of anthracite was evident. The extreme cold weather had homeowners turning off their natural gas and propane heaters and lighting their coal stoves. Stoves that are able to burn cored wood and anthracite were burning only anthracite. Why? Because no other heating fuel offers the warmth, dependability and efficiency that anthracite heating offers. If you know a fireman, ask them how many chimney fires they had to put out because of the creosote buildup from cored wood. Anthracite does not create smoke or creosote. If you are considering changing your heating system or adding a secondary heat source to your home, garage or outbuilding, think anthracite.

Someone is going to have a very comfortable and cozy old farmhouse this winter, courtesy of this Pittsburgh coal working its magic in an outdoor boiler. We have several options of cost-effective soft coal available for both indoor and outdoor units, and stock all sizes of anthracite from multiple sources. We have a multi-generational understanding of the products that we sell here, as well as the appliances that burn them. We use what we sell in our own homes, truck shop, and scalehouse… giving us our own “quality control” department of sorts. We have our own tri-axles hauling coal almost daily from the mines and breakers, directly to our retail yard. This always ensures you get a top-quality and clean product each time. Our reputation is built on clean coal!

We have soft coal here to suit every need at very economical prices. We stock low-volatile nut coal and run-of-mine for inside installations and high-volatile stoker coal that is perfect for outdoor boilers. All standard sizes of anthracite is available as well from multiple sources. We can load any amount here at our yard, and conveyor and small dump delivery is available. Let the games begin!

It’s hard to believe that another heating season will soon be upon us. We have recently been getting prepared to meet your coal heating needs once again. Our retail yard is beginning to fill up and we have been taking advantage of the nice weather to work through our Fall delivery schedule. We stock all sizes of standard anthracite in bulk and several varieties of soft coal for both outdoor and indoor units. We are also Bedford County’s only dealer for high-quality Blaschak Anthracite.

Yard hours are by appointment through the week by calling 814-766-2924 or 814-285-6100. If Tyler and Tadd are not at the yard, Brittany will be willing to load you if she is able. We are always here on Saturdays from 8AM until 12PM.

We have recently expanded our stone lot to include a few more choices of decorative landscaping stone. We currently now have on stock a 3” rough cut sandstone, and a barn red stone in 2-B size. We will be receiving a load of white pearl in approximately a 2” size very soon. We also have our normal selection of limestone in sizes including dust, 1-B, #2’s, 2B, and 2A modified. Delivery available up to 6-tons with a 2-ton minimum. I should be at the shop for this week and I could probably be somewhat prompt if a delivery is needed.
