GLTC is proud to support Week Without Driving, October 1–8.
Led nationally by the Nondrivers Alliance and co-hosted with America Walks, Week Without Driving is a growing movement that brings attention to the transportation needs and everyday experiences of people who don’t drive. About one-third of people in the U.S. are nondrivers, and the week encourages communities to think differently about how people get to work, appointments, school, shopping, and the places that keep us connected. Week Without Driving
Lynchburg, we’re challenging you to take the pledge and try something different. During the week, replace at least one trip you would normally make by car with another way of getting around. Ride a GLTC Fixed Route, explore Flex, use another available transportation option, or simply try a trip without driving and reflect on the experience.
Already ride GLTC? Make the challenge your own by trying a service, route, or connection you haven’t used before and encourage a friend, coworker, or family member to join you.
The goal isn’t to be perfect or give up driving completely. It’s to experience your community from a different perspective, learn more about the choices available to nondrivers, and discover transportation options you may not have considered before. Week Without Driving
