So it's been about 6 months since I started this Lyft thing. Lyfting is truly the best kept secret for retired seniors on the planet. If you like people and you don't mind driving you can add some pretty serious cash to your retirement or part time income. So we opened up an account strictly for Lyft income.
I have taken a total of 8 weeks off for variously personal stuff. So, in reality it's been 4 months of actual driving weeks. I only work during the day. No weekends, or evenings.
After paying for gas, and auto maintenance my Lyft account has a balance of about $13,000. That's a fair amount of fun money to accumulate in your spare time. This is a position where you pick up people and drive them to where they need to go. I don't have my own website, but check out the website for Lyft.com..its an awesome way for unemployed, underemployed, teachers off for the summer, students and retirees to add to their monthly income working your own hours whenever you want to. It's a total blast. I love it. And here is an accurate accounting of MY weekly earnings in my first 2 months. Not going to get rich, but certainly a great use of my spare hours. And this is part time!

A huge benefit to being a platinum driver is getting .50 a gal off on my gas at any Shell station. Granted, most of the time they are higher priced, but all you have to do is Google to find one of the many Shell stations that are priced the same. We've saved over $50.00 just in the last 2 weeks while on vacation. It's a great benefit.
