Alumni Highlight! Adam Poganski, ATA's Trucking U Class of 2019, has worked as an Operations Manager at Volta Logistics, INC. in Gilbert, AZ for about three years. Adam says, "Looking back at my experience at ATA's Trucking U, it really was the turning point in where I wanted to go with my career after graduation. From the hands I got to shake, to the tractors I got to tour on the show room floor, it made me curious on what the trucking industry was and ultimately led me to look for a career in logistics." The results of the survey were announced on the weekend during the 2021 American Trucking Associations Management Conference & Exhibition in Nashville.

The overall survey ranked the top issues as:
Driver shortage
Driver retention
Driver compensation
Lawsuit abuse reform
Truck parking
CSA
Detention time
Infrastructure funding
Insurance cost and availability
Shortage of diesel technicians

However, truckers had a different take on what concerns them most. For the first time, two issues tied for the top spot on the list compiled from drivers' votes.

The top issues chosen by drivers were:
Driver compensation and truck parking
Detention/Delay at customers facilities
Fuel prices
Driver training standards
Hours of service rules
ELD mandate
Driver distraction
Transportation infrastructure/congestion/funding
Speed limiters
CSA

ATRI’s annual survey asks respondents to select their top three from a list of 30 pre-identified critical issues. An issue that is ranked by a respondent as most important receives three points, while an issue ranked second receives two points and an issue ranked third receives one point. The issue with the highest number of points is identified as the top industry issue.

Motor carriers ranked the driver shortage as the number one issue in this year's ATRI survey.

Our Story

Volta Logistics is an innovator in the transportation logistics industry. Based in Minneapolis, St. Cloud and Cloquet, MN. Volta has the capacity to provide top-quality service to businesses of all sizes and needs. Whether the client is a nationwide manufacturer or a small town supplier, Volta is integral in the shipping process from cradle to grave. It is commonplace in the logistics industry to deal with several representatives of varying departments throughout the process of setting up and shipping a load; usually at the expense of clarity whenever a question arises or a change is necessary to a shipment. This was the founding motivation for Volta which continues into the present, as the Volta family works tirelessly to provide an unmatched and seldom practiced commitment to service.

When a new account is formed at Volta, the client establishes an intimate working relationship with their given account representative. This representative is responsible for coordinating every step of the shipment process, thus eliminating the hassles associated with departmentalization. The employees at Volta go above and beyond the role of brokers, oftentimes jumping on a call to guide a lost driver or helping coworkers to peg a new truck if one blows a tire. It is their comprehension in collaboration that has distinguished Volta from their competitors, as they provide a workplace that thrives on a balance of healthy competition and support from fellow associates.

The employees of Volta pride themselves in valuing a closeness among their coworkers, professionally and personally. This closeness transcends the boundaries of the office, spilling out into the relationships they maintain with their clients and fleet drivers. Volta has a vested interest in the success of their clients, both big and small, and thus are willing to do what is necessary for the success of everyone.

As they continue to grow Volta remains nimble enough to respond to the market’s needs as they ebb and flow over time; which is a testament to their fluency in customer satisfaction. Volta capitalizes on their ability to evolve through a combination of digital optimization and personal devotion to ensuring the safe and effective transport of goods.
