Join us in congratulating Matt Fayne on being named Tennessee Steel Haulers’ Owner Operator of the Month for May! 👏

Matt represents what being an owner operator at TSH is all about: independence, discipline, and pride in the job. He makes the most of his time on the road, often listening to investment audiobooks, always focused on building a strong future while staying productive behind the wheel. His truck even reflects his well balanced lifestyle, with a jump rope to stay active and an electric guitar to unwind after a long day.

One of Matt’s most memorable hauls took him from Laredo to Washington in the middle of winter, pulling an AC load through challenging terrain and chaining up along the way. Runs like that highlight his skill, determination, and commitment to getting the job done right.

Off the road, Matt enjoys working on his ranch and restoring classic 1970s muscle cars. That same hands on mindset carries into his business, where he emphasizes staying ahead of maintenance and addressing small issues before they turn into bigger ones.

Matt credits his success to the support network at TSH, along with the freedom to book his own loads and plan his home time. It is that flexibility that allows him to truly run his business his way.

TSH Cofield is a perfect example of how something strong can be built over time through hard work, steady growth, and a real commitment to doing things the right way.

TSH Cofield was built starting in 2001, when there was a clear need for steel transportation in Cofield, North Carolina. What started as a small yard with just 10 trailers on 2 acres did not stay small for long. It grew into a major terminal, now running around 100 trucks across 25 acres and helping keep steel moving in and out of the region every day.

Today, Cofield represents what TSH is all about

We are proud to recognize Mike Rodeheaver as our TSH Owner Operator of the Month. Mike leads with faith, values family, and represents TSH with professionalism every mile of the way. 🙏🚛
While driving, Mike passes the time listening to gospel music and sermons on the radio. Staying connected to home is important to him, and frequent talks with his wife and family help keep him encouraged and focused on the road.
A few things always ride with Mike in the truck

✅ Plenty of food thanks to his wife making sure he is always prepared
One load that stands out most included pulling a Cofield company trailer loaded with insulation panels to Phoenix, New York. After unloading, he reloaded the same trailer with plastic pipe out of Endicott, New York and hauled it back to North Carolina. From there, he returned to Cofield and loaded his own trailer headed for Ohio. Staying flexible and productive made that run especially memorable.
When he is not on the road, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, teaching Sunday school, and going to church. He and his wife are raising a blended family with four wonderful children. Mike gives a huge shout out to his wife Berea, sharing that a trucker’s wife endures a lot and none of this would be possible without her support. ❤️
Mike’s advice to other owner operators
✅ Stay ahead of equipment maintenance
✅ Be prepared for any type of load
✅ Stay loaded even if it takes a less desirable run
✅ Keep a calm and respectful attitude in every situation
Mike values the quick pay on every load, the settlements team, flexible home time, supportive freight agents, and the communication that keeps everyone informed. He also appreciates the repair escrow account for unexpected repairs and gives a special shout out to Katie Staggs for always checking in.

🚛 TSH Thank You Week is Coming Up 🚛

Drivers, next week is TSH Thank You Week, and we’re looking forward to celebrating the people who keep freight moving every single day.

We invite you to stop by any terminal during the week and enjoy lunch with us. It’s our way of saying thank you for the skill, focus, and responsibility you bring to the road and for the pride you take in doing the job right and doing it safely.

Next week also happens to line up with CVSA International Roadcheck, an annual roadside inspection event focused on highway safety across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This year’s areas of focus include vehicle cargo securement along with driver ELD accuracy and Hours of Service compliance. Inspectors will also be paying close attention to brakes, tires, and lights, so a little extra prep can go a long way.

Thank you for holding the standard high and representing TSH with professionalism every mile. We hope to see you during Thank You Week, and as always, travel safe out there.
