[3:45PM] We're already starting to see issues along I-70 near Buckeye Lake. This is Exit 129 west of State Route 79. The water is forecast to continue rising overnight, impacting I-70. If you're traveling, make sure you have an alternate route and remember, TURN AROUND DON'T DROWN if you encounter flooded roadways.

People often underestimate the power of flowing water. A mere 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock an adult off their feet. Most vehicles begin to lose contact with the road in six inches of water. They can be swept away in 12-18 inches of flowing water. This includes pickups and SUVs. When approaching a flooded roadway remember, Turn Around Don’t Drown!

for school buses! Stay alert and know when to stop: On a two or three lane road - drivers on BOTH SIDES of the road must stop when a bus is dropping off or picking up students. On roads with four or more lanes – drivers traveling the opposite direction of the bus DO NOT have to stop.
